nickdimeo
I just heard that Casablanca will ONCE AGAIN be released on DVD but this time containing extra bonus material and costing more. This is becoming a horrible trend, where movies that are already out on DVD are once again being released so that greedy Hollywood studios can keep profiting off of the "Deluxe" editions of these movies. When I first bought my DVD player some of the first DVD's I bought were Singin' In The Rain, West Side Story, and Casablanca and wouldn't you know that each of these movies in a short time have been upgraded to Box Sets or "Deluxe" Editions and making my my edition of the same DVD the lesser. It just seems to me that DVD's seem like a license to print money for these Hollywood Studios because once any extra footage of a movie is available they can release a new edition DVD containing "Extra Bonus Material". This has got to stop!
venerados
I agree, but what would you prefer? When new material becomes available, don't release it? Or hold off releasing it altogether until a Deluxe Edition can be put together?
deitrichdame
Nickdimeo I know what you mean, I have 2 and 3 DVDs of certain movies, not including tapes. I usually give the duplicates to a local charity with a shelter facility. As tacky as it may sound, and if its important to you, these items are tax deductible.
