jakeem Posted July 4, 2016 Share Posted July 4, 2016 The Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, who won the Palme d'Or (Golden Palm) award at the Cannes Film Festival two decades ago, died of cancer-related complications on Monday. He was 76. His 1997 drama "Taste of Cherry" tied Japanese director Shohei Imamura's film "The Eel" for the festival's highest prize.
