If I have to choose between the integrity of the New York Times and Donald Trump it's a no contest win for the NYT.

Besides, if this report is such a "joke", why doesn't Trump just release his tax returns to prove it? He can then expose the NYT as  "fake news" and have the last laugh on them.

The real problem, of course, moreso even than Trump's fraud as a "great businessman," is that he has massive 421 million dollars debts (possibly even more) that have to be repaid within four years. To whom is he beholden, and does it compromise American security in his Oval Office decision making? There's talk of the Philippines, India and Turkey (with Trump autocrat "pal" Erdogan). Eric Trump said in 2013 that the Trump empire got its money from Russia. Gee, come to think of it, Trump never criticizes Putin or Russia. does he, Jake?

Bears repeating as it is what it is.  Trump is  a con artist, draft dodger, failed businessman and tax dodger.

And his supporters just shrug their shoulders about it. That is more concerning than even the scoundrel himself because they might keep him in office. Having a morally bankrupt man as President of the United States who intentionally divides the nation doesn't bother them.

His most ardent supporters are also bent on dividing the nation.  They are at war with people who are even a bit more liberal than they are.  That is the entire point of this thread.

KILLING US SOFTLY WITH THEIR SONG

Decorousness is highly overrated. The politicians who lied us into a disastrous war in Iraq, a trade deal that devastated both manufacturing in the United States and peasant agriculture in Mexico, and the massive outsourcing of American manufacturing to China were generally quite decorous.

They also did enormous damage to the United States, damage from which the country has yet to recover.

Joe Biden was one of those politicians.

And the great majority of the commentators so aghast at Trump’s performance last night cheered on each of these disastrous moves.

Decorously, of course.

The debate? Trump was great, Chris Wallace was a dreadful disgrace

Chris Wallace's overt defense of Joe Biden throughout the debate on Tuesday night was so obvious, so blatant, he should be proscribed from ever "moderating" a debate again.

Wallace's performance was as Biden's protector, his advocate, and that is undeniable.  He stepped in at every moment Biden seemed lost: court-packing, lack of support of law enforcement, and Hunter's criminality.

The debate was so poorly managed.  The questions were designed to aid Biden, to coddle him.  No wonder Trump felt duty-bound to interrupt.  Trump was debating both Wallace and Biden, and only one of them is sentient.

Wallace's intent was clear: sabotage Trump.  Wallace succeeded only in looking like the stooge he is.

Trump Flushed Biden Out and Exposed His Weaknesses

Trump-Biden I: Reality Is Reality

The prez got onto the record, and the public consciousness, questions about Biden that would not normally get picked up in mainstream media coverage. In particular, issues relating to the former vice president’s son Hunter and his cash-raking from a rogue’s gallery of American enemies. And his kowtowing to Sanders and his party’s radical left wing. The president pushed the longtime senator into exaggerations about the extent of lost health coverage in the event of Obamacare repeal and COVID-19. Trump brought out the VP’s weaselly positions on opposing violence in the streets.

In other words, let's blame Wallace for Trump losing the debate.
