themary
any chance Mr. Turner can afford another movie channel (Turner Neo-Classic Movies)? It seems that there was a real change in the film industry in the 60's. Please leave TCM with the patina and reputation it has developed over the decades. TopBilled
When Ted Turner purchased the MGM/UA library, he bought all the titles that were in the catalogue up to 1986. Turner Classic Movies (TCM) began in 1994. But from the beginning of TCM's existence, they were playing all the films Turner had acquired, and that included the stuff from the mid-80s. So this channel hasn't always just broadcast movies from the golden age of Hollywood.
