Does Anybody Miss . . .

Does anybody miss the old action adventures with Arnold, Bruce, and Sly?... or the buddy movies like Lethal Weapon and Tango and Cash? All we have now is the 'veddy, veddy' british 007, and now he's even changing. Those were such fun, getaway movies, not to mention great for looking for goofs.

I do miss some of them. They are great popcorn movies. You get to suspend your belief on some of them. Guilty pleasures involve the "Lethal Weapon" series and the first two "Die Hard" movies. I enjoyed some of Arnold's movies but never really could take Stallone. I did sit through "The Specialist" once but that was more to listen to John Barry's music.

The "Indiana Jones" series was fun. "The Fugitive", "Patriot Games" were fun too. My wife's one guilty pleasure is "Under Siege" with Steven Seagal. Tommy Lee Jones hams it up pretty good. Not sure where they all went unless Jackie Chan has claimed it for himself.

"The Fugitive," "The Hunt for Red October" and "Clear and Present Danger" were both pretty good. I didn't really like "Patriot Games."

I like Bruce Willis, but not as an action star.

I did like Arnold. "The Terminator," "Raw Deal" and "Total Recall" are teriffic fun. Of course, the return of the "Star Wars" franchise sort of spelled doom for the "future noir" type of films that Arnold made.
