Hillary Clinton - take 4

Recommended Posts

Hillary Clinton should absolutely not run for president in 2020. And Democrats should stop her if she tries.

There's a purposely provocative piece in Politico magazine this week that aims to make the case that Hillary Clinton is going to run for president for a third time in 2020. Citing the scaling back of the Clinton Global Initiative and her plans to write a seventh book as evidence, Matt Latimer concludes: “Yes, barring some calamity, Clinton is running. And this brave columnist will go one step further. Not only will Clinton run again, she has an excellent shot at getting the Democratic Party nomination again.”

Wrong. And not just wrong on Clinton running again. But wrong on the fact that if she runs she could or would have the inside track on the Democratic nomination.

The simple fact is that the public has had two chances to elect Hillary Clinton president. Neither time has it done so. You can argue forever about her relative qualifications and how she has worked her entire life to hold that one job. But this is a democracy where the electoral college vote decides who the president is. And twice, the public has chosen someone other than Clinton.

She could beat Bernie again, that's for sure. Bernie is a rich guy now, just like the Clintons.

Chelsea Clinton's Husband Closes His Hedge Fund

Eaglevale Partners, the hedge fund co-founded by Marc Mezvinsky, the son-in-law of Hillary and Bill Clinton, closed in December, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Eaglevale, based in New York, is in the process of returning money to clients, said the person who asked not to be named because the firm is private.

Eaglevale was started by former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. traders Bennett Grau, Mark Mallon and Mezvinsky in 2011. They had previously worked together on the bank’s global macro proprietary-trading desk.

A spokesman for Eaglevale declined to comment on the news, which was reported earlier by Hedge Fund Alert.

If this was a Bush or Trump, it would have been headline news.

It be worldwide news!

Democrats need a new face without any baggage, a moderate is in order.  Joe Manchin is a Democrat I can accept.

Hillary’s New Look—And What It Means

Allure online headlined the event: “Hillary Clinton’s Haircut Is Taking the Internet By Storm.”

A week later, Hillary stopped traffic on New York’s Fifth Avenue as she came out of the Bergdorf Goodman hair salon, where she got a $600 dye job and a $600 haircut.

The bangs were gone and her hair was several shades lighter.

Experience tells us that when Hillary experiments with her hair style, she’s up to something. I reported on that “something” a month ago when I revealed that, as fanciful as it might seem, Hillary has plans to run again for president.

Yes, all it takes is to spend $1200 on your hair and you are ready to run again.

Hillary Clinton speaking in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO — Hillary Clinton is in San Francisco for one of her first public speeches since losing the 2016 presidential race.

Clinton is scheduled to speak to a sold-out crowd Tuesday at a meeting of the Professional Businesswomen of California organization.

The former U.S. Secretary of State largely has kept a low profile since losing the presidency to Donald Trump in November, although she was sometimes spotted on hikes with husband Bill Clinton.

Hillary Clinton told a Pennsylvania crowd earlier this month she was "ready to come out of the woods," and work to help Americans find common ground.

*****************************************

She is really going to find common ground in San Francisco, I may die laughing.

Manchin is a Democrat in name only.

Wouldn't surprise me that he becomes a Republican by election time.  Depending on how screwed up Trump and Co. get the economy, etc.

Of course, the real question is why do people here keep talking about Hillary Clinton.  She is done as far as being in the political world.  I'm sure she will come out in support of some people or causes, but not likely she will ever hold office or run for office again.

Clearly Clinton cares more about feeding her bitterness and getting revenge on Dems and progressives that didn't help her win the election than she is about helping the Dems make gains in 2018 as well as defeat Trump in 2020.

She's in a very awkward spot.  She is constantly asked about the election and for once they don't like her candidness.

Who are 'they'?    Based on the CNN articles it appears to be the majority of the Dem party leadership as well as actual Dem party office holders.

The GOP, conservatives and Trump supporters are A-OK with her candidness when she attacks the DNC,  Sanders and progressives and others in the Dem party coalition.      That is exactly what they were hoping for.

The GOP conservatives and Trump don't like her candidness when she talks about Comey, the Russians and Wikileaks,  The Dems don't like her speaking of the DNC shortcomings.

No one likes her candidness.  They see it as whining and an inability to move on.  But as I said they keep asking her about it.  An she has admitted mistakes which usually don't make the sound bites.

What's girl to do?
