Favorite LP covers...

Didn't they use portions of that painting for the intro to GOOD TIMES as a portrayal of JIMMY WALKER's "J.J." character's artwork?

He WAS supposed to be some kind of "budding" artist on the show.

That's what I thought when I first saw it. Wiki has some details

about the cover in its entry on the album. In brief, the painting

came first, then it was used in the TV show, and then as the

album cover. DY-NO-MITE!

So, VAUTRIN;

Do you actually OWN any of these albums and their covers ARE your favorites?

Or are you just doing the JAKE HOLMAN thing and scouring the net to find pictures of album covers to post?

There are a few I don't own, but just enjoy the visuals

of the covers, but about 95% are albums that I do have.

Well, if my OP was about album covers that we all LIKED, MY list would have been much LONGER.  But I just listed the covers that were my "favorites".    For instance, I LIKE  ALL the movies I have on tape and DVD, but VERY FEW of them would be considered "favorites".

@DARK:

Yeah, that Hayes LP was a good one.  It would have been on my list too, if it hadn't dissapeared from my collection many moons ago.

How is THAT one of your "favorite" LP covers?

Or...are you sticking another TOE out of the closet?   :D

Sepiatone

Has a good pic of Morrissey before he started to age. If I really

wanted to stick another toe out, I would post the cover of the

first Smiths' album. :)

I remember that album cover...I always thought it looked awful, like he asked his 4 year old niece to quickly draw something up during pre-school recess.

Maybe that's why I like it. It has a certain unusual charm, beyond the

usual posed photo. The cover to Lovesexy is at the opposite end of

the spectrum.

Yeah, there were quite a few late 80's-early 90's alt-rock albums that had that same primitive, folk-art look as the 1999 album, so it resonated with a lot of people, even if I didn't care for it.
