I've alerted TCM to the problem. This should be fixed by tomorrow. But while the PDF version has an error, the pop-up window is accurate!

Companion Guide to Canvas Course: TCM Presents Painfully Funny: Exploring Slapstick in the Movies

http://slapstick.tcm.com/img/TCM-00118_SlapstickSchedule.pdf

I've also created a public Movie list on letterboxd.com:  http://boxd.it/MbA2

Thanks for the link! I already tweeted it out, and if you are OK with it - I would be happy to link it on The Movies Page inside Canvas - I think it is a terrific resource! Let me know.

Hello, Everyone!    I shared this class at the social sites and am happy to be here!  Find me for chat.

My comment after this first class?

Found the French translation of the title -  if you studied french but do not use it very much, the first impression is something about a "carer-of-roses" who is "aroused" by the hose thing...  grin.  However,  It means the Sprinkled sprinkler , according to Google translate.      Is it deliberate or accidental???  the exaggerrated gestures ???  Such WERE used to communicate to the audience, even on fuzzy black and white old film, all the way to the back row.

I liked the IMDb paragraph about the concept remakes - having little to do with art, but  lots to do with saving money on copyright fees - back then, there were only the flimsiest of laws governing film-making so it saved cash to make one's own version of a film rather than pay for the use of the original.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0000136/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

That's great, Professor Edwards.  I'm totally fine with you posting it anywhere you would like.  I hope everyone can get some use out of it.  I've also added links to each movies TCM article where they exist.  To see the links, you will have to click the "Read Notes" button at the top of the page located just to the right of the title.  I'll also plan to add links to the movie's internet archive page for any public domain movies.

There appears to be different films on September 7 than those listed on the pdf below.  Instead of a repeat of the films of September 6, there are additional films.   :)

Here is the other listing that I found:

Thanks! I am going to take you up on that offer and post your link on The Movies page inside the Canvas course. It is a great resource! Thanks for putting it together!

The old link still shows the bad schedule, but TCM has uploaded a new corrected document which is being referenced by their splash page.  Since they didn't just correct the old document, but uploaded one with a new name, anyone who has used the old reference for a link will need to change it.  I have corrected my original post and it now takes you to the new corrected documents location.  I have also corrected the letterboxd page.  Thank you ShawnDog for noticing this.

I want a chat buddy for this course...even skype?   make it alive!   my son's first degreei is in film and video and I am making my first videos for pro purposes only a few years ago, but want to do more. While I am delayed by a death in the family , though, I can at least take this course and study and prepare, so when my smile is good enough again to be in front of the camera, the content of my video will be better in many ways.     Lucy's yard-wide powder puff???  :-D    "primp!"
