jaragon
Nicolas Roeg's haunting thriller looks stunning in blu ray. A very creepy film but it's more supernatural drama than horror . Great photography, editing and score by Pinno Donnagio Christie and Sutherland are perfect- and those women playing the strange sisters are priceless.
Sgt_Markoff
I don't like Blu-Ray, myself. Less is more with me. Anything I see digitally enhanced and rendered on a flat screen always looks strange, weird, and false. As if its been shot with an electron microscope. Anyway this is one of my favorite horror flicks; easily earning a place in my Top Twenty. Source material by horror wiz, Daphne DuMaurier. Fine performances by the two leads; superb location shoot...head-and-shoulders over anything made today. Simple, cryptic, inscrutable, eerie. Not 'spoon feed the viewer'-type storytelling.
