paulc59
trying to remember the title of a movie made in the 50's (plus or minus a couple of years) about a group of military guys that take advantage of their local and open a hotel, somewhere I think in the south pacific or asia. It might of been a comedy, at least light hearted. Any thoughts?
jdb1
"Operation Madball" (1956-7), with Jack Lemmon and Ernie Kovacks, had a similar plot, but I don't think it was an actual hotel -- or maybe it was. Was it perhaps "Teahouse of the August Moon?" That wasn't a hotel either, but the idea is the same.
danthemoviefan
Sounds an awful lot like "Donovan's Reef" (1963) too: http://www.tcmdb.com/title/title.jsp?stid=4532
mrsl
Check out IMDB for the title of Something for the Boys, 1944 - in color - comedy/music. Don't know if that's the one, but maybe. Anne
paulc59
Thanks, I checked "Operation madball, Donovans and Something for the boys"...none of them. Anyone else? PS. it was in color. I rember part of the plot was the fact that the C.O. was going to kill them if they got found out. thanks
