mystery singer

I know this is a little late to post but I had hoped I could figure it out on my own but I am still perplexed. On the date of August 24 heading into August 25 I just happened to flip on TCM for a second and the sound was off because of some personal issues but there was a clip of a young female singer performing and I was not sure if it was in the movie "Doomed Cargo" or the next one which was "Movie Crazy."  But it may have been more likely to be a short between the movies. Anyway I am very intrigued by this clip and am hoping if someone else saw this they could provide me a name for the singer, number or how can I access it again? She reminded me very much of a young Bette Midler and I wished I could have had the sound on. I have tried looking but am unable to find any information to help me out. The movie on before these two was "American Madness" but I think it was past that time. I am sure hoping someone will solve this for me please.

thanks

The schedule for that date is still up as of the time I'm writing. The short between Doomed Cargo and Movie Crazy was The Yacht Party from 1932.

IMDb lists the singer as Gertrude Niesen/Nissen (never heard of her) and the dancer as Melissa Mason (don't call her Marsha). Did you see a strange dancer?

TCM's schedule page lists American Madness as having come on before Doomed Cargo.

Youtube has a clip from The Yacht Party available with Nissen singing:

There's also one of Mason's dance:

Do either of these look familiar?

Thank you both very much. I knew I could count on the expertise of my "fellow" TCM viewers. I am so grateful for your help in this manner. I did not get to see the dancer but she is something else also! We had just recently upgraded here to the dish TV service and even though we were told rain would not affect the reception we have discovered that rain does indeed disrupt the reception here now. So I am hoping now when I really want to watch a movie on TCM the weather better be blue skies or else?

Again thank you both very much for your help in this matter. I am going to have to look up more about this interesting singer. Truly reminds me of Bette Midler in so many ways. Hearing it was so much better than just barely seeing it!
