Bryant avenue Bob
Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me in what movie, and in the exact scene that Marie Ouspenskya uttered the famous phrase. "Even the pure of heart, who says his prayers by night" I remember seeing it as a small child, i am 75 now, but cannot find it anywhere. This has been driving me crazy. Help. TopBilled
The Wolf Man (1941) with Lon Chaney Jr. That's it. And to the OP, a slight correction-- it's Maria (with an 'a'). Madame Maria Ouspenskaya. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Ouspenskaya
Bryant avenue Bob
Hello and thank you for the welcome, and for the replies. i am sorry about the spelling. i must disagree with your reply. I cannot fined the scene anywhere in the Wolf Man where she utters those lines herself. There are others that said it but not Ms. Ouspenskaya..can you send me the link to the exact scene. is it possible it has been deleted?
LawrenceA
Here's a clip from The Wolfman of 3 other characters saying it, but not Maria. In the comments, someone says Maria also said it, but there's no clip of it. I would suggest watching the movie if you're still interested.

scsu1975
Actually, Claude Rains spoke the line, and then Ouspenskaya replied "Smile when you say that." Then Lon Chaney said "You dirty rat."
