The Triumph of Donald Trump

Recommended Posts

I don't believe ANYTHING he says. If he said it was raining, I'd look outside to make sure.

It hurts to say this, but we actually need MORE people like Trump's supporters.  I mean, once they buy up all that SWAMPLAND the rest of us have more sense not to, then maybe they'll develop it and THEN there's where some "job creation" will come from!  :)

Trump has spent 20% of his time in Palm Beach, FL not counting travel time,  so far.  Much of it playing golf.

From the guy who said he wouldn't leave his chair in the White House and would not play golf.

Amateurs in control of government.

Ivanka Trump awarded 3 China trademarks on the same day she dined with Chinese president-

"President Donald Trump’s daughter won provisional approval for three trademarks in China on the same day that she had dinner with China’s president.

The Associated Press, via the Boston Globe, reports that earlier this month, “Ivanka Trump’s company won provisional approval from the Chinese government for three new trademarks, giving it monopoly rights to sell Ivanka brand jewelry, bags and spa services in the world’s second-largest economy.”...

You don't want scrawny guys holding office. Fat blimps like Trump are far preferable.

“We are sending an armada. Very powerful. We have submarines. Very powerful, far more powerful than the aircraft carrier, that I can tell you,” Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network.

But as it turns out the armada is sailing in the opposite direction toward Australia.

Jeez - does Trump look like a taard there, or what?

No, just totally confused, way out of his depth and with no idea of what is going on.

Incidentally, everything Trump told his rabid supporters, especially the ones on this forum, he has now abandoned and done a 180 on.

of course he is somewhat out of his element...he is a non-career beltway politician and a shrewd businessman.

we tried the one way for more than 200 years so maybe he can do better.

for all I know, TheCid, your only reason for hating him is that he sided with the moral traditionalists in the GOP. :P

you've cited your military background more than once around here. you prefer a schtootz like obama who committed the cardinal mistake of leadership by threatening but never acting? you like that???

come on, TheCid. trump has already shown more backbone in 4 months than obama showed in 8 years.

he has first class guys like Mattis and McMaster giving him input...and you doan like that?

I thought you had a military background.

There are many businessmen out there who are far shrewder than he is. Maybe one of them should be Prez.

No, I dislike him because he is totally unqualified to be on a city council, much less to be in national office.  He is ignorant, vain, incompetent, corrupt, devious, indecisive, ad infinitum.

He did not side with the "moral tradionalists" in the GOP; he LIED and y'all ate it up.  He is the most immoral president US has ever had.

As for my military background, it is based on experience and military training that military action is taken only when diplomacy has failed or cannot be effectuated.  Trump has no comprehension of this.  It is very easy to start a war as GW Bush did and then not be able to win it at a cost of thousands of lives and trillions of dollars. Very easy to send helicopers into Somalia or SEAL teams elsewhere and accomplish nothing at loss of  US lives.

The competent military leader knows when to use the State Dept for negotiation and when to use military forces.  Trump knows neither.  In fact, Mattis and McMaster had to pressure him into not virtually abandoning the State Dept.  Both came out in favor of diplomacy before military actions.

Firing 59 Tomahawks at an airfield does not qualify you as a military expert.  As for the MOAB, Obama essentially approved that.

Not saying firing the Tomahawks was not called for, but remember Obama was ready to do something until Trump's good buddy Vlad said he had taken care of it.  Guaranteed that Assad had no more chemical weapons.

Don't forgert, Trump said on many, many, many occasions: do not use military in Syria; stay out of Syrian situation, ad infinitum.

A good president also knows that he must balance what his generals say against what his foreign policy, economic advisors and domestic advisors say.  Then make a rational, well thought out decision - and pray.  Trump is incapable of that, as are you.

Trump has no backbone, he still has heel spurs.

obama and susan rice told us that all the chemical weapons had been removed from syria and but for the single exception of the bin laden hit, obama did nothing else militarily except draw a pretty red line that he never had the backbone to back up.

trump had to do it for him. you say that mattis and mcmaster had to talk him out of abandoning the state dept....well, he took their advice, didn't he?

so what are you complaining about? I wonder how many times obama had to be dissuaded by valerie jarrett from taking action?

look, I see as you do that trump is uncouth and shoots from his point all too cavalierly but at least he understands when a potus says he's gonna do something...

well sir...

he dam well better do it or he loses credibility.

obama had 8 years to figure that out and never did...or did he?  :P

Targeted by Obama, DeVry and other for-profit colleges rebounding under Trump-

"Less than 100 days into Trump's presidency, the Department of Education under Secretary Betsy DeVos has delayed implementation of gainful employment rules, withdrawn key federal student loan servicing reforms, and signaled a less onerous regulatory environment for the essentially taxpayer-financed career education sector.....

If mortgage debt was the hallmark economic problem of the 2000s, student loan debt will be the crisis for the next 15 years," Stoltmann said. "So many of these students will go to their graves with this debt, and that's a true injustice....

Nipkowdisc's Horticulture Hutch...

with your host...

Nipkowdisc Underweed Crock

(not to be confused with the late great american horticulturist James Underwood Crockett)

did you know that unlike palms with fan-like leaves, the leaves of sabal palmetto have a difinite midrib while the leaves of a palm like livistona chinensis have leaf blades radiating from the apex of the petiole...

and some palms have petioles which are armed with sharp teeth or barbs. :)

so here's this sheet this morning about trump's approval numbers being the lowest this early on since 1945...

of course I saw on fox yesterday 'the new media's 100 day war against president trump' which explains everything.

anything to make it up to the democrats whom they let down so badly last year. :(

reporting that his approval rating is below zero even ain't gonna stop the juggernaut that has been unleashed.

:)
