Cool. At most Obama era WH events like this,
guests were encouraged to write holiday cards to be sent to service people overseas.

But go ahead Trumpkins, you do you.

Wow. Top Trump aide Kellyanne refuses to say “there was no quid pro quo” with aid to Ukraine. Just wow. Trump has joined his entire defense on the claim that there was no quid pro quo, and Kellyanne won’t say it.

It looks like Kellyannn is finally taking some advice from her husband.

George Conway is a top-notch attorney and he's probably trying to protect his wife.

Fun fact: Trump intentionally slandering and threatening his own Lt. Army Col. Vindman because he gave truthful testimony, under oath, that threatens his position as POTUS is an impeachable offense.

There is no such thing as an Lt. Army Co. He is a US Army Lt. Col.
Regardless, how is insulting an Army officer an "impeachable offense?"  Not sure saying he will show that Vindman is a "Never Trumper" is a threat.

Trump’s shift from “no quid pro quo” to “there was nothing wrong with my quid pro quo”

is the kind of thing we’ve seen him get away with before.

But, saying there was a quid pro quo is an admission there was attempted bribery.

Bribery is a constitutional ground for impeachment.

Just glancing at the headlines I saw something from a military periodical that said Vindman May be liable for court-martial because of his testimony.

What do you make of that?

Justice Department seeks info on 'Anonymous' author of soon-to-be-published insider book

'A Warning' — expected to be highly critical of Trump — is set to hit bookshelves later this month.

....... Hachette Book Group confirmed that they'd received a letter from the Trump administration and said that they would not comply with the requests because the publisher is not party to any contracts with the U.S. government and intends to keep the author's identity secret. ......

The author's literary agency, Javelin, accused the administration of trying to "intimidate and expose" the official in a statement.

"Our author knows that the President is determined to unmask whistleblowers who may be in his midst. That's one of the reasons 'A WARNING' was written," the literary agency, Javelin, said in a statement, referring to the soon-to-be-published book. "But we support the publisher in its resolve that the administration's effort to intimidate and expose the senior official who has seen misconduct at the highest levels will not prevent this book from moving forward."........

How Trump Reshaped the Presidency in Over 11,000 Tweets

"...... As much as anything, Twitter is the broadcast network for Mr. Trump’s parallel political reality — the “alternative facts” he has used to spread conspiracy theories, fake information and extremist content, including material that energizes some of his base. ..........

“If I don’t tweet it,” he said, according to two former senior advisers, “don’t listen to my staff.” ........

.....

A turning point came in fall 2017, at the height of tensions with North Korea, when Mr. Trump tweeted that the rogue nation might not “be around much longer!” The country’s foreign minister called that a declaration of war.

On Twitter, users wondered if the company would allow Mr. Trump to tweet his way into a nuclear conflict.

The response came the next day. Referring back to Mr. Trump’s online declaration, Twitter announced in a tweet that it took “newsworthiness” into account when evaluating whether to remove a post that violated its policies.

In an interview, Twitter executives said that newsworthiness had long figured into the company’s internal enforcement guidelines........

.........Mr. Trump’s Twitter habit is most intense in the morning, when he is in the White House residence, watching Fox News, scrolling through his Twitter mentions and turning the social media platform into what one aide called the “ultimate weapon of mass dissemination.”

Of the attack tweets identified in the Times analysis, nearly half were sent between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., hours that Mr. Trump spends mostly without advisers present....

Once Mr. Trump arrives in the West Wing — usually after 10 a.m. — Dan Scavino, the White House social media director, takes control of the Twitter account, tweeting as @realDonaldTrump from his own phone or computer.

The president is keenly aware of his number of followers and reluctant to acknowledge that any of them are not real. ...

people close to Mr. Trump said there was no dissuading him that the “likes” a tweet got were evidence that a decision or policy proposal was well received. ......

The aides seek to cultivate the image of a man who understands “regular people.” Mr. Trump’s team believes that his unvarnished writing, poor punctuation and increasing profanity on Twitter signal authenticity — a contrast to the polished, vetted, often anodyne social media style of most candidates. ...

The thought also occurred to me, but not in the context of "disobeying" an order from the Commander in Chief.  I don't think anyone in the military would seriously consider disobeying Trump's "order" to not testify as being meaningful.  You can also get into the weeds by interpreting failure to perform vs. willful disobedience of a lawful order.

Personally I doubt the Army will want to court martial him, but his career is probably toast at this point.  He will probably retire as a Lt. Col. within the next couple of years.  Then get a job as a "consultant" on TV.

Incidentally, court martial merely means the trial itself.  You can be court martialed, found innocent and remain on duty.

Pertinent parts of the article are quoted below.

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2019/10/31/how-the-army-officer-who-testified-against-trump-could-end-up-in-a-court-martial/

"It comes down to whether Trump’s order was lawful, he said. If Trump was trying to prevent Vindman from sharing sensitive information, it could be. If he was trying to prevent testimony, period, it’s not.

The Military Whistleblower Protection Act prohibits government officials from interfering with a member of the military in communicating with Congress or an inspector general. Adding to the complexity is that the president gets to determine what is and isn’t classified."
