Trump supporters keep asking "what on earth could the president be impeached for?"

1) bribery
2) extortion
3) ten allegations of obstruction (read Mueller rpt)
4) tax fraud
5) conspiracy
6) witness tampering ...and more

What the heck, I'm willing to give trump a pass on promoting white supremacy and all those decades-long sexual harassment accusations because it looks like he's already got a lot ofmerde on his plate.

The GOP theory of the case on Ukraine is a combination of the following:

a) it ain't a bank robbery if you don't end up with the cash;

b) it ain't a bank robbery if you dislike some of the bank's employees;

c) I can rob any bank I want;

d) it ain't a bank robbery if   —look! a bird!  :blink:  :rolleyes:

No one watching this hearing—and we're only at the opening statements stage
—could *possibly* believe this is just about a single phone call.

This is about a months- and even *years-long* course of corruption involving Trump;
his aides, allies, and associates; Ukraine; and Russia.

"A Republican group is targeting House GOP lawmakers ahead of this week's public impeachment inquiry hearings, urging them to take the proceedings seriously.

The 60-second ad from 'Republicans for the Rule of Law' includes footage from the House Judiciary Committee's debate on articles of impeachment against then-President Nixon and shows three Republicans explaining why they voted for some or all of the articles.

"The last time a Republican president faced impeachment, some House Republicans remembered that oath. They stood bravely to defend the Constitution and the American tradition of the Rule of Law. They’re remembered for their courage and integrity.

History has not been kind to their colleagues who buried their heads in the sand and refused to acknowledge the facts," ...

Public servants take an oath of office to uphold the Constitution.

It's just that simple.

These hearings are of historic importance regardless of the outcome. The truth they are exposing will forever define what Trump’s presidency was all about: “Once upon a time, America installed a president who used the office solely to benefit himself.”

saw Nancy Pelosi bellyaching about the dreamer DACA situation at the same time she's actively involved in trying to impeach the one who could help her.

stupid.

While Pelosi is dead wrong on DACA (the act exceeded Presidential authority,  and required an act of Congress, which one would think the leader of the House would understand),   the impeachment has nothing to do with that.

It appears you want Pelosi to be like Trump;    Demand a favor for NOT impeaching him.    (like Trump did with Ukraine with the aid that Congress authorized).

The Senate confirmed Steven Menashi to be a lifetime federal judge even though he has never tried a case in court and has a record of inflammatory writing about women's rights and diversity.

- a true Triumph....stacking courts w/incompetent, sexist, racist boobs with lifetime jobs!  <_<

Wow! Was just told that my son’s book, “Triggered,” is Number One on The New York Times Bestseller List. Congratulations Don!

=======================================

Bulk-purchasing your kid's book (a fact confirmed by a special notation the NYT put beside the book)

because you think it'd reflect poorly on you if it failed to make the NYT bestseller list,

and then typing "wow!" when it does, is the very *pinnacle* of PATHETIC

Trump demanding a Zelensky announce an investigation of Biden, “in front of a microphone” gives the game away.

If the real goal was to investigate corruption, a CNN announcement would be the wrong approach.

Genuine investigations are kept secret.

=======================================

Prosecutors don't announce they're investigating because it make it harder to get at the truth;
wrongdoers get a head start.

So it's worth underlining that asking for an announcement of an investigation is certain evidence it was about 2020 politics
......NOT corruption in Ukraine.
