The Triumph of Donald Trump

Recommended Posts

Just remembering how Bush 43 in his final weeks in office pardoned a developer convicted of mail fraud.

When it came out that the developer’s father had contributed $30,000 to the GOP, Bush was so upset that it would look like a favor for a donor that he took the pardon back.........

"This process is broken," Bush railed to aides. "Why is it that somebody who knows somebody in the White House gets to have a better shot than somebody who doesn’t know somebody in the White House?"

The warning that Russia is again interfering to help Trump raises questions about the integrity of the presidential campaign and whether the administration is taking the proper steps to combat the kind of meddling that the U.S. saw in 2016.

Trump was so enraged that acting-DNI Maguire's staff briefed Congress about this national security threat from Russia, he replaced Maguire as his permanent DNI pick and replaced him with Trump lackey, Richard Grenell, who has ZERO intelligence experience.

Also departing the senior ranks of ODNI: ODNI General Counsel Jason Klitenic and Principal Deputy DNI Andrew Hallman.

So the sequence here appears to be.

1. DNI gets intel that Russia is interfering again in the election
2. Acting DNI briefs lawmakers about the threat.
3. Trump finds out
4. Trump berates acting DNI
5. Trump replaces acting DNI with political stooge/ally

Trump’s move to replace Joseph Maguire in the post has already sparked a backlash from Democrats and other critics who say Grenell isn’t qualified for the job

But it's unclear if most Republicans — particularly on the Senate Intelligence Committee — are comfortable with the president's choice

Richard Grenell has won early support from two key members of GOP leadership to be President Trump's pick as acting director of national intelligence

New: Trump’s allies are urging him to push for a purge at DOJ of anyone involved with the Russia probe.

The MAGA punditry’s outsized influence over the president means their campaign against the so-called Mueller “holdovers” is not falling on deaf ears

Trump’s new intel chief, Richard Grenell, did *undisclosed* work for an Eastern European oligarch now subject to anti-corruption sanctions.

“This is exactly the type of circumstances I’d expect the Department of Justice to investigate,” said an expert.

Russia interfering in American sovereignty is again creating chaos in the intelligence community.

As trump attempts to fire all those who are trying to expose it to save American democracy.

Sen. Sanders, after a report that officials have told the Democratic presidential candidate that Russia was trying to help his campaign:

"My message to Putin is clear: Stay out of American elections,
and as president I will make sure that you do.”
=======================================

President Trump dismissed intelligence reports that Russia is attempting to interfere in the 2020 election,

writing it off without evidence as a continuation of a Democratic “disinformation” campaign against him.

Twenty billion. And just to appease the ego of a leader obsessed with tariffs, who childishly insisted “trade wars are easy.”’

Trump and his enablers decry policies like Medicare for All and a Green New Deal as “socialist,” but have no problem handing out massive federal aid to farmers who have been hit by Trump’s pointless trade war. Their hypocrisy is staggering.

trump's socialism--

over $ 20 billion for white male farmers.....trump supporters.

This waste of money while trump is trying to destroy  Obamacare and kick people off Medicaid.

All American citizens are supposed to be equal but in trump's world there's a tiered system prejudiced,  according to whether the bigot likes you or not.

President Trump’s choice to stay at his own Las Vegas hotel each night during the western states swing that wrapped up Friday l
likely cost taxpayers a million extra dollars

as well as diverted thousands of them into his own cash registers.

......Previous presidents on extended trips away from the White House typically stayed in the city of each day’s final event, or traveled to the city of the following day’s first event.

Trump, instead, traveled back to Las Vegas each night from California, Arizona and Colorado to overnight at his Trump International Hotel ― requiring several extra hours’ flying time on Air Force One, a plane that costs taxpayers about a quarter-million dollars per hour in the air.

“At this point in his presidency, there’s no way to look at it other than Donald Trump is using his position and taxpayer dollars to make money for his businesses,” said Jordan Libowitz with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.

“This is beyond a conflict of interest. This is corruption, plain and simple.”........

McConnell gets $50,000 from pharma after blocking Dem bill to lower drug prices

......the Democratic majority would offer H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act. The bill would allow the federal government to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies on the cost of prescription drugs for Medicare, restrict price hikes, and limit out-of-pocket costs. It aims to follow through on one of Donald Trump's unkept campaign promises: Medicare drug price negotiation.

That same day Pelosi outlined the plan, McConnell (R-KY) declared it would have no chance of passage in the GOP-controlled Senate. "Socialist price controls will do a lot of left-wing damage to the healthcare system..........

As reports emerge of renewed Russian interference,

remember that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have blocked election security bills that would:

—Require campaigns to report foreign interference
—Hold social media companies accountable
—Ensure backup paper ballots

Trump is supposed to have a press conference Wed. night to discuss the coronvirus.  Apparently it is not going away in April as he said it would.  Unfortunately he and his political hack appointees have all been playing down the significance of the threat to America.

Trump campaign’s plan to woo black voters: Retail stores

The centers will distribute pamphlets and sell merchandise, including hats and sweatshirts embroidered with the word “woke.”

".....As part of an ongoing effort to increase Trump’s share of the black vote this fall, the president’s reelection campaign unveiled plans on Wednesday to open a series of “community centers” in empty retail spaces across the U.S. where paid staffers and volunteers will spend the next several months courting black voters with literature, celebrity meet-and-greets and “woke”-branded attire.

The sleek new storefronts — a design rendering shared with POLITICO showed a bright interior outfitted with midcentury furniture and state-of-the-art wall graphics — will begin opening in March and are expected to span seven battleground states: Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Wisconsin.

The goal is not necessarily to win the African American vote in 2020 — an implausible outcome — but to simply raise Trump’s share a few percentage points from the 8 percent he received in 2016. If Trump can take his African American vote share from single digits to the low teens, it could give him a boost in key states that are likely to decide the outcome of the election......

Asked to define “woke culture” as it relates to the president’s bid for reelection, a second campaign official said reporters should “ask a black person.” ..........
