.GovRonDeSantis decided to violate the state's public meeting laws and chose to exclude the and

from a media briefing at the Capitol.

He was so determined to keep us out, he had an FDLE vehicle pick up TV reporter Mike Vasilinda to give him back door access

Florida has some of the best open records and open meeting laws in the country.

Excluding the the largest print outlets in the state isn’t just counterproductive and illegal;

it’s now going to draw 100x more attention to the matter.

trump takes time out to tweet about the royal couple today:

I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom. It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada. Now they have left Canada for the U.S. however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay!

The future is FLA Gov. DeSantis today.

The governor who left the beaches and almost all commerce open as the virus spread like wildfire across the country

is now blaming his state's outbreak on New York and New Yorkers fleeing to Florida.

This is the new political message.

This picture is from 3pm today.

You can see exactly where Duval County, FL ends and St. John’s County begins.

All beaches in Duval are closed, while St. John’s only blocked parking at the beach.

Gov. DeSantis needs to order a state-wide closure of all Florida beaches.

Times/Herald reporter barred from FL Gov. Ron DeSantis’ news conference

“I have nothing else to add," a governor’s aide told a Times/Herald Tallahassee Bureau reporter when asked who decided to bar her entry to Saturday’s news conference that was attended by other reporters.

she was refused entry into the Capitol in Tallahassee to attend a news briefing by the governor, lieutenant governor, director of emergency management and state surgeon general regarding COVID-19 testing, access to medicine and efforts to prevent New Yorkers from flying into the state.

The reason for her exclusion, she was told by a governor’s spokeswoman: She had earlier requested social distancing.

Days earlier, Klas asked that the governor’s staff help protect reporters by holding Zoom-style video conference press briefings so that questions could be asked without requiring reporters to gather in close proximity........

“I asked for social distancing. I didn’t ask to be excluded,” said Klas, who said she tried to attend Saturday’s briefing because recent efforts to submit questions in writing had been unsuccessful. “The problem with having this available on a satellite feed is there’s no interaction, and we’d already had several days where they weren’t answering [our] questions.”.........

Some U.S. governors have stepped up during coronavirus crisis, others not so much

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has 'channeled the nation's yearning' for leadership, said one expert. But many Southern governors have stepped out of the way.
.
...........Cuomo and several other governors, including Inslee, have performed exceptionally well during this crisis.

“He gets an A+ for raising the national alarm about community spread (in places like nursing homes),” Tillery said of the Washington governor. “He has also been a leader in pushing the federal government to assist the states. He has also used the authority of his office to use creative ways to get triage hospitals built in the state."

Also deserving of top grades, in Tillery’s estimation, are Democratic governors Gavin Newsom of California, J.B. Pritzker of Illinois, and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, and Republicans Larry Hogan of Maryland and Mike DeWine of Ohio..........

The experts interviewed by NBC News largely agreed on which governors have not risen to the occasion.

“On the other end of the spectrum are two governors who placed their partisan allegiances and or anti-intellectualism above the safety and welfare of their constituents,” Tillary said.

They are DeSantis and Tate Reeves of Mississippi, who is also a conservative Republican and Trump ally, he said...........

ranked Reeves, DeSantis and two other Republican governors at the bottom for failing to be proactive in the face of the crisis, for doing a poor job of executing the state’s response, and for being “too concerned about making sure that their messaging aligns with the president’s actions and recommendations on curtailing the virus.”

“Social distancing has not been a priority,” Dominguez said. “They have done a poor job on transparency.”

The other two were Kay Ivey of Alabama and Greg Abbott of Texas...............

“President Trump is a ratings hit. Since reviving the daily White House briefing Mr. Trump and his coronavirus updates have attracted an average audience of 8.5 million on cable news, roughly the viewership of the season finale of ‘The Bachelor.’ Numbers are continuing to rise. On Monday, nearly 12.2 million people watched Mr. Trump’s briefing on CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, according to Nielsen — ‘Monday Night Football’ numbers. Millions more are watching on ABC, CBS, NBC and online streaming sites, and the audience is expanding. On Monday, Fox News alone attracted 6.2 million viewers for the president’s briefing — an astounding number for a 6 p.m. cable broadcast, more akin to the viewership for a popular prime-time sitcom. The CBS News poll said 13 percent of Republicans trusted the news media for information about the virus.” Michael M. More Americans have died from coronavirus than during the attack on Pearl Harbor and Trump is talking about ratings? I want every American to not forget that when they vote, ever again. Not one damn thing. Or the GOP criminals who helped him. Vote them all out, forever and ever.

Maybe he's just someone who recognizes a charlatan when he sees one.

Trump called on Obama to resign when 2 people died from Ebola.  Now he is claiming a great victory if he keeps the death toll in American down to 100,000.

Is trolling the only reason that you still support this clown?

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly stepped up to the plate and handed out an executive stay-at-home order for the entire state.

She said Kansas was not yet ready for the pandemic.  We needed to buy some time to get more medical supplies and organization in the medical centers.

Out of negativity, Republican conservative legislative committee immediately announced that they would review what she was doing and let everybody else know if she was going to be allowed to do it.

Obviously, Governor Kelly is a Democrat. That is why this ridiculous review was ordered. Of course, the conservatives came to the same conclusion that she came to, but they felt it was necessary just to make an already difficult and harrowing situation for the governor more stressful.

trump's Republican governors  and legislators don't really care about what happens to most Americans.

They are still playing political games and spewing forth the negativity and hatred that is their trademark.

Nearly 10 minutes of today's coronavirus briefing was taken by six company executives

who alternately gave shout outs to their own products,

called for a return to the Bible, and praised Trump's leadership.

GE workers walked out today to demand their plant start making ventilators. That’s Lord of the Flies sh*t.

Factory workers shouldn’t have to force their company to help save lives.

That’s what a president is supposed to do.

But right now, factory workers are all we got.

Trump’s Coronavirus Response Is a Failure by His Own Standards

He says Cuomo ignored warnings and Obama was slow to address swine flu.

On both counts, Trump is worse.

".......If Obama deserves criticism for taking 19 days to ship out tests, and if Cuomo is at fault for not buying extra ventilators four years ago, then Trump’s negligence in preparing for and responding to this crisis deserves far more condemnation.

In the past three years, the president has ignored multiple direct warnings—briefings, reports, simulations, intelligence assessments—that a pandemic was likely and that the government didn’t have enough masks, ventilators, or antiviral drugs to deal with it. His administration was told exactly what to do: second-guess case detection rates, prepare rapid production of tests, and line up extra funding and personal protective equipment. He did none of it. ........

By every measure—preparation, organization, funding, testing, ventilators, masks, public communication—Trump’s performance has been abysmal.

He’s weeks and weeks behind Obama. And his disregard for multiple direct warnings about a pandemic is, by the standard of foresight he applies to Cuomo, inexcusable...........

"Nat sec. adviser Robert C. O’Brien and his deputy Matthew Pottinger were among those pushing early for strong action [on coronavirus]. Pottinger...knew they [Chinese government] were underplaying the problem." Great writeup by @joshrogin

trump chose to believe the word and follow the advice of the Chinese Communist dictator, rather than his own American National Security Council.

And now Americans are paying the price with their lives.
