The Appointments - Trump's Swamp

Recommended Posts

I just watched a bunch of interviews of Trump supporters on CNN who were asked if it turns out that Jeff Sessions lied under oath should he resign.  The overriding sentiment was that he should get a pass because he is a patriot.  These were probably the same sort of people who were chanting 'Lock Her Up' whenever Trump and Sessions just mentioned Clinton's name.

Handsome men like Sessions always get a "pass".

Ben Carson Refers to Slaves as ‘Immigrants’-

"Mr. Carson turned his attention to slavery after describing photographs of poor immigrants displayed at the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. These new arrivals worked long hours, six or seven days a week, with little pay, he said. And before them, there were slaves.

“That’s what America is about, a land of dreams and opportunity,’’ he said. “There were other immigrants who came here in the bottom of slave ships, worked even longer, even harder for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters, might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land.”....

Sleepy Ben wants to show that he can say just as many ridiculous

things as a Cabinet officer as he did as a candidate. Mission

accomplished.

Blowregard also said that things were moving too fast so he was

somewhat confused. No one can be happier than Sessions about

Donny's wiretap allegation. Took the spotlight off Lying Jeff completely.

After a poll came out Wednesday showing that a majority of voters say Attorney General Jeff Sessions should resign because they believe he lied under oath about his meetings with a Russian ambassador,

oops, he did it again -- there was that one other time!........

-disgraced former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn just took his lawyer’s advice and belatedly registered as a foreign agent for lobbying work he did that “could be construed to have principally benefited the Republic of Turkey” according to the paperwork he filed.

Flynn was paid $530,000 last August through November during Trump’s campaign by a firm owned by a Turkish businessman with close ties to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.....

Meet the Hundreds of Officials Trump Has Quietly Installed Across the Government-

"We have obtained a list of more than 400 Trump administration hires, including dozens of lobbyists and some from far-right media.

A Trump campaign aide who argues that Democrats committed “ethnic cleansing” in a plot to “liquidate” the white working class. A former reality show contestant whose study of societal collapse inspired him to invent a bow-and-arrow-****-survivalist multi-tool. A pair of healthcare industry lobbyists. A lobbyist for defense contractors. An “evangelist” and lobbyist for Palantir, the Silicon Valley company with close ties to intelligence agencies. And a New Hampshire Trump supporter who has only recently graduated from high school.......

The list is striking for how many former lobbyists it contains: We found at least 36, spanning industries from health insurance and pharmaceuticals to construction, energy and finance. Many of them lobbied in the same areas that are regulated by the agencies they have now joined.....

BS on Pence claim he never knew about Flynn’s Turkish contract-

"Pence sought to say that it was the first time he’d heard about it.

“That cannot be true,” Maddow said bluntly. “It is impossible this is the first Mike Pence has heard of it. Mike Pence was the head of the [Trump] transition, while all of those news stories of Mike Flynn being on the Turkish government’s payroll were breaking.

He was the head of the transition when Mike Flynn was being vetted for the National Security Advisor job. He was the head of the transition when Congress formally notified the head of the transition that Mike Flynn appears to be on a foreign government’s payroll.

He was the head of the transition when Mike Flynn’s personal lawyers came and told the transition that Mike Flynn maybe needed to register as a foreign agent.”

Former Koch Agents, Fossil Fuel Industry Hired Guns Now Staffing Trump's Federal Agencies-

"the names of hundreds of temporary staffers the Trump administration has installed in federal agencies, including the Department of Interior (DOI), Department of Energy (DOE), the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and others.

A DeSmog investigation shows that this list of staffers, largely undisclosed before this week, includes former operatives allied with Koch Industries, oil and coal industry employees, a former employee of a prominent climate denial group, and an advocate for a pro-trophy hunting organization funded by oil and gas. The background and connections of these staffers may serve as a preview to potential priorities these agencies may take on related to energy, climate, and environment under Donald Trump....

“Trump installing corporate polluter operatives into key energy and climate positions is just another distressing example of just how radically he is hijacking our country in the wrong direction,” Tyson Slocum, Energy Program Director for Public Citizen,...

With no replacements in hand, lying Jeff Sessions has fired 40+ lawyers.  So what about the cases they are prosecuting at the moment, like those against Wall Street?  Maybe that was the point.  More protection and money for billionaires and less protection for the average (Trump) voter.  And the Trumpsters still won't wake up.

I was thinking along those same lines.  Trump doesn't seem to be thinking in terms of job performance and acumen for the position as he is about "fixing" things for HIS own advantage.

And firing a guy he told was going to be kept?  And HE'S not the LIAR?  C'MON now........

Apparently Trump or Bannon or someone is making sure that the cabinet appointees toe their party line.  While most positions go vacant, the political watch dogs are there in force.  Must be something they learned from Putin or some other dictator.

Required Qualifications and Experience: Being Daddy's Girl

For Trump to even consider doing this is an insult to the American people, even the ones who voted for him.

It is nepotism, pure and simple.  If you have an office or work area in a government building, you are "employed."

She continues to run her "companies" and to market them while working in a federal office building.

Why should she even be considered for a security clearance if she has no official position with the government.  That's like saying the spouses and children of everyone in the military with a clearance should also have them.

Will she sit in on security briefings?
