Mike Pence-- Who is He and What is his Agenda?

Recommended Posts

"Spill the beans" in America means to report something that is unknown about a person or activity.  As in one person telling secret things about another person or a crook reporting a crime or who committed it.  So, "spilling the beans" would mean Pence providing something "new or sensational about Trump."

I agree Pence is unlikely to do anything to offend Trump or his base as he will need that support when he runs for president.

True about spilling the beans.   New stuff comes out about Trump every day that should shock any NORMAL person. But we're not talking about NORMAL, are we?

That would be the only way the evangelical vote would work against Trump.

I don't think that would work against Trump. Cruz and those other religious morons were heavily against Trump in 2015 and their former supporters still voted for him.

Mike Pence takes eight-vehicle motorcade across island where cars have been banned for a century

199ab454a00d111e9d664fcdc4d93ebd

For more than a century, motorised vehicles have been banned from Mackinac Island in Michigan - giving the former Revolutionary War battle site a unique charm and turning it into a tourist haven.

The ban is so strictly enforced that when President Gerald Ford visited in 1975, he and first lady Betty Ford travelled by horse-drawn carriage.

But the Trump administration is known for its norm-breaking, and on Saturday, vice president Mike Pence rumbled across the island in an eight-vehicle motorcade.

Mr Pence was on the island to speak at the Michigan Republican Party's leadership conference, the first ever sitting vice president to address it in its 60-year history.

Ron Fournier, a Michigan native and former Washington bureau chief for the Associated Press, said the motorcade was "obscene”.

“Sacrilege,” he tweeted, adding that “no security expert would claim it's necessary”.

Another local posted: "Even President Gerald Ford rode in a horse drawn carriage. Is there no limit to the crass elitist raised middle finger to America?"

But others said it was a sign that times had changed, with presidents and their senior officials facing increased security threats.

Increased security threats? We had a president assassinated in 1963. Gerald Ford was shot at and Ronald Reagan was shot.

No, this is just pure high-hat arrogance and the Queen certainly would have even ridden in a horse-drawn carriage.

Trump encourages questions to Pence about his own Ukraine calls

"President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that reporters should ask Mike Pence to release details of his conversations with Ukraine, seemingly drawing his vice president into the scandal that has engulfed the administration.

“I think you should ask for Vice President Pence’s conversation, because he had a couple of conversations also,” Trump said at a news conference.......

Some of Trump’s top aides have also been drawn into the scandal. The Washington Post reported that Trump asked his acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, to hold back millions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine just days before the July 25 call with Zelensky, and the memo of Trump’s call showed the president urging Zelensky to work with Attorney General William Barr to investigate the Bidens. .......

Actually if Trump goes, then Pence becomes president and quickly nominates a Veep and the GOP Senate will confirm immediately.  If Pence goes first, then Trump nominates a new Veep under same scenario.

Of course both will not be impeached, tried and convicted at the same time.  Not even sure that is Constitutionally legal.

It would be similar to what happened with Nixon and Agnew.  Agnew resigned and Nixon appointed Gerald Ford to be Veep and Senate confirmed him fairly quickly.

Just saying, Pelosi is not going to become president.  Unless both Trump and Pence die at same time.

House Asks Mike Pence For Ukraine-Related Documents

The request is part of the chamber’s ongoing impeachment inquiry.

Three House committees have asked Vice President Mike Pence to produce documents related to President Donald Trump’s dealings with Ukraine as part of the chamber’s impeachment inquiry.

The House oversight, intelligence and foreign affairs committee chairs sent a joint letter on Friday asking Pence to comply with their request by Oct. 15......

Specifically, the chairs are seeking “all documents and communications” from this year relating to an April 21 call and a July 25 call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Reports have indicated that a member of the vice president’s staff may have been on the line at the time.

A Sept. 1 meeting between Pence and Zelensky has also come under scrutiny. In their letter,........

"The country needed Mike Pence to keep himself clean," argues David Frum,

"and instead—whether out of raw ambition or some weak personal impulse to subservience

—Pence plunged into the deepest ooze of the mud."

Mike Pence Fully Backs Trump Asking Foreign Leaders To Go After Biden

The vice president defended Trump’s call for both China and Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden in the runup to 2020..

Trump used Mike Pence to tell Ukraine the US would withhold military aid while demanding that it investigate 'corruption'

Pence always reminds me of those little REMORA fish that attach themselves to sharks with strong suctioning mouths.  Only in Pence's case, he's attached himself so tightly to Trump's a** that he only removes himself to say what "the Donald" wants him to.

Make no mistake about it, Pence served successfully in Congress and as governor of Indiana.  He knows how to get his agenda done with out all the rancor and bad PR that Trump engenders.

If Trump leaves office and Pence becomes president, he will almost assuredly win the election in 2020 and take many other GOPers along on his coat tails.
