Racism in Trump's America

Recommended Posts

Okay, another guy sees a poll and just believes it.

Two funny. Of course there are a lot of variables.

How many people voted in 2012 who did not vote

in 2016. How much overlap was there between the

people who voted in 2012 and those who voted in

2016. But, just talking about raw numbers, both

Obama and Clinton got about the same number of

votes in 2012 and 2016--65,000,000. Trump received

2,000,000 more votes than Romney. Hard to believe

that 9 million people who voted for Obama in 2012

voted for Trump in 2016 and yet somehow Clinton

still came up with similar vote totals to Obama's.

Just in purely graphic design terms, the Nazi and

Soviet Union flags are rather well done and effective.

Shame Hitler hijacked the symbol and perverted it for evil.

Look on the bottom, a Jewish swastika.

Native Americans used the symbol, Jackie (Kennedy) Onassis wearing it as a child.

Artists have always appropriated things and given them a new

meaning and visual impact. I don't even know if Hitler was the

one who came up with the Nazi flag. Maybe it was some now

unknown functionary.

Hitler was the designer of the Nazi Hakenkreuz, derived from the Sanskrit which means "good luck"  or "well being".  His design is at a tilted angle within the white / red background.  Introduced it Feb 24, 1920.

Other cultures need to reclaim the Sanskrit symbol that is not always a symbol of hate.

I like to see you tell that to a friend of mine who is a Holocaust Survivor.

When you show her the new design for that flag, she can show you her tattoo from the death camp. Where she cheated death.

Did you read my post, was replying to Vautrin's question, did Hitler designed the flag?

Far as the Sanskrit goes, is it other cultures fault what happened to her?

No, but I pledge my life to see that it doesn't happen to other people ever again. And when Donald Trump is promoting, and protecting and Sheltering

Neo-Nazis, and

Ku Klux Klan and

aryan-white supremacists --

Just like all the people who executed the Holocaust - -

well I know what side I'm on.

They write about how young Islamic terrorists become radicalized. Some online, some at home.

Donald Trump's father Fred, a child of German immigrants, attended, and was arrested at, a K K K rally in Queens, NY, in 1927. If Fred was so motivated to attend a K K K rally and behave in such a way as to get arrested, his racist agenda must have been strong enough to impart it to his son Donald.

So, perhaps Donald Trump was radicalized and became a racist at home. I wonder how he feels about Catholics -- that 1927 K K K rally was strongly anti-Catholic.

Yeah Vautrin, I think I once heard the name of that person was somethin' like Betsy Rossenhoffer.

(...btw, and re the Obama-to-Trump voter crossover numbers..I think you're right...the numbers earlier mentioned seem suspiciously high to me too...however Vautrin ol' boy, whatever that number might have been, we know one thing for sure anyway...you weren't part of that percentage...and 'cause of course, you're too disinterested in the whole process to even get off your butt for 15 minutes and go vote, and thus in your own infinitesimal way and along with millions of others in this country with your same mindset, contributed to that moronic man-child having his fat butt presently parked in the Oval Office...and THAT'S a fact, sir, as the numbers of said man-child's "approval ratings", presently below 40%, would and should bear out...'cause there's NO way in hell that more than SIXTY percent of the electorate that voted for that man-child would now DISapprove of that man-child's performance in office...and THAT'S a fact, TOO!)

They have now found definitive documentation from 1927 showing that Fred Trump was arrested during his participation at a K K K demonstration/riot in Queens, NY.

Life father, like son.

Unsubstantiated story that Trump's father attended '**** march.

Even if he did, is the son guilty of the father's sins?

They have substantiated it -- found accurate newspaper accounts and records from the period. REAL NEWS! No, the son is not guilty of the father's sins. But there's always such angst about how Islamic kids get radicalized. Trump's father Fred may be part of the reason Donald got radicalized/racist. (And Trump was quick, many years ago, to convict several young black men for rape, for which they were later exonerated by DNA. Not to mention the birther stuff. So Trump's the purveyor of fake news. Just imagine, as a private citizen Trump placed an ad in a New York newspaper condemning those kids. We now know his motivation was because they were black.)

Yeah ham, have to say that this whole "sins of the father" thing seems a bit of a reach to me, too.

(...yep, now I THINK the REAL problem with the guy stems from his limited vocabulary, and thus his inability to state his opinions in any sort of intelligent and/or thoughtful manner, and especially when it comes to a topic as complex as the racial and other social divisions within this country of ours...and so whenever he opens that pie hole of his OR does that little Twitter thing he seems so obsessed with, NATURALLY there will be people out there who'll attempt to find some reason for the downright dumb and juvenile things he so often says)

Well, I'll give credit where credit is due. As a failed artist, I'm sure he

would appreciate creating one work of art, if one can call it that, that

will survive. For the west, I think it's too late for the swastika to be

anything more than a symbol of Nazism.

I thought her first name was was Berthe. Let me quickly check the numbers.

Yep, even with my possible vote for Clinton, Donny still would have won NC. :)

I guess you must've missed where I said, "and thus in your own infinitesimal way and along with millions of others in this country with your same mindset", huh.

See?! THAT was always the problem with that old Evelyn Wood Speed Reading course...sometimes people skip RIGHT over some of the more salient points someone else has written down.

(...and re using the more Teutonic given name of "Berthe" in my joke MIGHT have worked I suppose, but I still think "Betsy Rossenhoffer" has a more familiar and thus better ring to it)

I've always wondered if those speed reading course actually worked. I can

only be responsible for my one vote, not what millions of others do. And in

off year elections, non-voters are likely more numerous than voters. Of

course there is little evidence that Betsy Ross made the first American flag,

but it's a good story for the kiddies.

Twitler.jpg500_.jpg

You mentioned that his father was Klan and the Central Park five racism against the young black men and of course the birther mess.

But I have two more things to add to your list.

*Arlo Guthrie's father, Woody Guthrie, said that he lived in one of Fred Trump's apartment buildings which was built on government subsidy for veterans after World War II. And believe this or not - - Fred Trump would not allow black veterans to live in the building.

Woody Guthrie wrote a song about it that somebody found amongst his archives.

Of course, everybody knows Woody Guthrie is famous for the song

"This Land Is Your Land".

The song that Woody Guthrie wrote about Donald Trump's father being a racist,

I don't believe it was ever recorded - - but if you Google Woody Guthrie and the Fred Trump song you can probably find it.

** The other issue is an actual housing discrimination lawsuit that the Nixon Administration put up against the Trump family business. It was at this time that Donald Trump hired Ray Cohen tofight the justice department for the lawsuit against them. Before settling with the government, Trump fought for

2 years. Reportedly he is still angry about it

Trump fought back in true Trump Style and I know they paid out some money, but they never admitted any wrongdoing.

The issue was outright discrimination against black people by not allowing them to rent in the Trump owned apartment building.

The evidence and this is factual evidence was that Trump had directed the apartment managers to put a "c" on every application from black people, and mind you this is the 1970s, and the "c" stood for colored.

Also the federal government tested the Trump facility with sending first a black applicant who was told there were no vacancies and then a white applicant who was allowed to rent.

There's also a number of racist things involving his casinos that probably everybody has already heard by now.

But frankly Trump hates so many different groups of people, I wouldn't necessarily even put black people at the head of the list.

Of course, people knew all of these things and more, considering the evil hateful rhetoric that Trump displayed during the campaign. But it certainly didn't stop a great number of people from voting for him.

Yes -- all these things fit together to make an obvious pattern of systematic racism, over at least two generations of Trumps. It reminds me of the Mitford girls. Of the six sisters of a racist country squire, two became fascists: Diana, who married Oswald Mosley; and Unity, who went to Germany, embraced the Nazis, and possibly had an affair with Hitler, before returning to England and disgrace when the war began. Paternal racism can sometimes infect the children.

I just posted Noel Coward's poem about Unity Mitford in the poetry thread:

This Group Has Successfully Converted White Supremacists Using Compassion. Trump Defunded It.-

"Life After Hate is a Chicago-based nonprofit that does path-breaking work. Founded by former white supremacist leaders in 2011, it studies the forces that draw people to hate and helps those who are willing to disengage from radical extremist movements.

In June, the Department of Homeland Security revoked a grant to the nonprofit, telling The Huffington Post that it wants to focus on funding groups that work with law enforcement....

the Trump administration revoked the $455,000 grant that was promised by the Obama administration, and told us the organization has received no explanation....

Again,  you're being very offensive.   Homosexuals are HUMAN BEING,  so show some respect!!!

As for deprogramming;   yea, it might work,  but it would be similar to forcing black children to get skin whitening treatment.   Being gay OR black isn't something that has to change just because YOU hate them.

I didn't really mean to say that homosexuals should be deprogrammed but I was responding to the notion that neo-nazis could be deprogrammed which of course is possible. I know people who are gay and have never disrespected them.
