Racism in Trump's America

A white Kansas county commissioner resigns after coming under fire for telling an African-American consultant at a public meeting that he was "part of the master race" https://abcn.ws/2R2i4Jh

This was the last straw for many in Leavenworth County:

After previous comments by this man , which were judged to be of a racist nature and, like this one, had absolutely nothing to do with the County Commission business at hand.

The fact that the story ended up in headlines in "The New York Times " certainly didn't help.

His resignation did finally come after the Republican Governor of Kansas requested it.

This is the famous pro golfer who said black men were incapable of properly playing golf.

So I guess they're not going to invite trump's good buddy Tiger Woods out for a round today. LOL

Do you any evidence of that????   I searched the web and I couldn't find where Jack ever made such a comment or said that in one of his many books.

Thanks for finding that.    Yea,  Jack was even more clueless than Jimmy the Greek.    I can see fans of Jack classifying this as him reflecting the view of 'the times' or 'his generation' but to me that is BS.

Mississippi newspaper: Hyde-Smith attended segregation academy

The report represents the most recent in a series of setbacks for Cindy Hyde-Smith’s Senate campaign that have alarmed national Republicans counting on an easy pick-up for the chamber in deep-red Mississippi

Considering everything we know about this candidate, this is not a surprise and will certainly not hurt her among her staunchest supporters.

Hundreds planning to protest Trump's Mississippi visit http://hill.cm/cVYMd9t

....The Mississippi Rising Coalition is organizing a protest on the beach opposite a venue where Trump is speaking, according to the Biloxi Sun Herald.

The coalition, a non-profit civil rights organization, urged activists in a Facebook event to bring their “banners, signs and voices” to the non-violent gathering.

“We can not and will not let Hyde-Smith and Trump's racist rhetoric go unanswered directly by the people, and we must not allow Hyde-Smith to represent our state any longer,” the group wrote......

Haven't you heard what Putin does to journalists in Russia?

It doesn't matter whether you are beheaded, electrocuted or shot --dead is dead.

In the 1950s they were still beheading, using the guillotine, for murderers in France.

In the 1960s the Killers from Truman Capote's " In Cold Blood " were hung in Kansas.

Either way they're dead.

And just think of how many gay people have been murdered in hate crimes in the United States.

Corporate greed is right, they might lose a little in PROFITS but the people running GM might not be able to get that Olympic size swimming pool.  Suck it up and stay here!  Greed is why they have busted the Unions and sent our jobs to China so corporations wouldn't have to pay a livable wage.  If we had a steel industry like in the past, we wouldn't have to import!

Laissez-faire capitalism is based on Greed, materialism and Sky High profits.

trump's corporate tax break has trickled down to the corporate boardroom and to some upscale stockholders.

The only hope the American workers ever had were our labor unions, which for the most part have been promoted by the Democratic party and which for the most part have been attacked and virtually destroyed by the Republican Party.

It was only those left-wing supported unions that gave working class Americans a chance to actually have middle class incomes without having a college education.

If they believe in 'corporate greed' why have they so willingly endorsed Trump's tax cuts for corporations and the rich?  Trump told them that they would be rewarded by these corporations when things started to trickle down.  What a larff!!!

Trickle-down gave rise to the Mexican Revolution, and God only knows what else.

she should be convicted, princess. why do you suppose people on the right will be on her side?

she shot a guy in his own apartment.

This has nothing to do with people on the right-- you must have the right on your brain.

This is about Rogue police officers who are shooting unarmed black men for no reason whatsoever. Not enough of them are tried in court for murder.

FYI-- That's why the black young people started Black Lives Matter.  And that's why some of the black NFL players kneel during the national anthem.

Justice must set an example.

That isn't justice.   Justice is ensuring the accused gets a fair trial from their 'peers' and that the outcome (sentencing),  is consistently applied to all those conficted of similar crimes.

"setting an example' is often used by DAs (mostly conservative ones) running for election or re-election to show they are tough on crime.  (and typically those that get 'set up' as an 'example' are people of color).
