Hampton Inn employee fired for calling police on Black guest at pool with her children

The incident took place at the Williamston, North Carolina, location. Hilton, parent company of Hampton Inn, announced the employee was no longer employed at the hotel.

....."I'm the only Black person here in this pool, they want to question me," she says. "But it was two Caucasian people sitting right over there and she said nothing to them. So she goes and calls the police officers.".......

Mark Zuckerberg recently told Facebook employees he expects boycotting advertisers to “be back on the platform soon enough," and that he won't change policies “because of a threat to a small percent of our revenue, or to any percent of our revenue.”

Zuckerberg's unvarnished take on the boycott: “usually I tend to think that if someone goes out there and threatens you to do something, that actually kind of puts you in a box where in some ways it's even harder to do what they want because now it looks like you're capitulating”

These comments come to light as Facebook confirmed earlier today that Zuckerberg and other top execs are planning to meet with the organizers of the boycott in the coming days.

In an interview with @elainaplott of The New York Times, Jeff Sessions appeared to refer to Henry Louis Gates Jr. — one of the nation's most renowned Black scholars who was wrongly arrested while entering his own home in 2009 and subsequently met with President Obama — as "some criminal"

Since when is being a Harvard Professor criminal?

Although, I have to say that trump does insult on a regular basis a former Harvard Professor also, Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Did all of this animosity against Harvard start because President Obama has a law degree from that University  and was the first black editor of the Harvard Law Review?

Mrs Coretta Scott King was right on target about Jeff Sessions.

As horrible and as inhumane as people like these obviously are,

At least, as a society, we can take some comfort in that we are now collectively aware this heinous problem.

And we are now dedicated to finding some civilized solution to it-- rather than to go on denying that the problem does not exist.

California police seeking white man and woman who defaced Black Lives Matter mural

The woman was filmed by onlookers painting over the mural in front of the county courthouse while the man argued with bystanders.

"....... the mural was painted after community members had obtained the proper permits. Similar murals have been painted all over the country, including in cities such as Washington, D.C., and New York.

In the video, onlookers asked what was wrong with the couple and called the vandalism racist.

The man, who was wearing a red shirt that read “Trump Four More Years,” said they were tired of “the narrative of oppression.”

“There is no oppression, there is no racism,” the man said, while holding his phone up. “It’s a leftist lie. It’s a lie from the media, the liberal left.”.........

The only way to stop these daily and weekly racist microaggressions against black Americans is for some kind of Retribution to take place.

And it's probably wrong to call them micro because after the police are called, who knows what might happen to the innocent black victim(s)?

The white perpetrators only apologize for doing these things when they're made public by going viral on the internet .

Then they get away scot-free after terrorizing and humiliating an innocent American.

The intention of Hate Crimes like these is to destroy the humanity and equality of the victim with white privilege.

Wallace and NASCAR really took the Trump bait.     Sorry but they are fools.

Of course Trump framed the issue as hoax or NOT-hoax.      Instead of discussing the issue withing this misguided framing,   Wallace and NASCAR should have re-framed the issue.

BUT if they were going to play Trump's game using his framing,,,,  they should have just agreed it was a hoax;  because clearly,  based on how Trump has framed the issue,, it is much more of a hoax (fake),  then it is NOT.

Trump has to appeal to his hardcore far-right (often racist)  supporters, because they're pretty much all he can be certain of right now. But I just saw Trump's  advert based on the call to defund the police. It's a good advert, it scared me, and it may scare enough of his not far-right supporters back into his fold.

The Biden camp has got to be careful not to sign on wholesale to the cries to defund the police and tear down the statues.

Let's not forget the huge amount of land we took from Mexico.  Then we took the land from the Hispanics in the "new" US territories.  Not to mention all the discrimination against Hispanics since US took over their lands.

Yea,  next Trump will be calling for a monument to Manifest Destiny that features white men giving Indigenous people blankets.

Of course when told why they were given blankets,  Trump will claim he didn't know they were to infect these people with small pox!

After that why not a monument about the Japanese interment camps showing how these traitors deserved what they got.    America needs to celebrate the best things of our history.

Slavoj Zizek: Politically correct white people who practise self-contempt are contributing NOTHING in the fight to end racism

Smashing up monuments and disowning the past isn’t the way to address racism and show respect to black people. Feeling guilty patronizes the victims and achieves little.

It was widely reported in the media how on June 21, German authorities were shocked by a rampage of an “unprecedented scale” in the centre of Stuttgart: between 400 and 500 partygoers ran riot overnight, smashing shop windows, plundering stores and attacking police.

The police – who needed four and a half hours to quell the violence – ruled out any political motives for the “civil war-like scenes,” describing the perpetrators as people from the “party scene or events scene.” There were, of course, no bars or clubs for them to visit, because of social distancing – hence they were out on the streets.

Such civil disobedience has not been limited to Germany. On June 25, thousands packed out England’s beaches, ignoring social distancing. In Bournemouth, on the south coast, it was reported: “The area was overrun with cars and sunbathers, leading to gridlock. Rubbish crews also suffered abuse and intimidation as they tried to remove mountains of waste from the seafront, and there were a number of incidents involving excessive alcohol and fighting.”

One can blame these violent outbreaks on the immobility imposed by social distancing and quarantine, and it is reasonable to expect that we’ll see similar incidents across the world. You could argue that the recent wave of anti-racist protests follows a similar logic, too: people are relieved to deal with something they believe in to take their focus away from coronavirus.

We are, of course, dealing with very different types of violence here. On the beach, people simply wanted to enjoy their usual summer vacation, and reacted angrily against those who wanted to prevent it.

In Stuttgart, the enjoyment was generated by looting and destruction – by violence itself. But what we saw there was a violent carnival at its worst, an explosion of blind rage (although, as expected, some leftists tried to interpret it as a protest against consumerism and police control). The (largely non-violent) anti-racist protests simply ignored the orders of the authorities in pursuit of a noble cause.

Of course, these types of violence predominate in developed Western societies – we’re ignoring here the more extreme violence which is already happening and will for sure explode in countries like Yemen, Afghanistan and Somalia. “This summer will usher in some of the worst catastrophes the world has ever seen if the pandemic is allowed to spread rapidly across countries already convulsed by growing violence, deepening poverty and the spectre of famine,” reported the Guardian earlier this week.

There is a key feature shared by the three types of violence in spite of their differences: none of them expresses a consistent socio-political program. The anti-racist protests might appear to, but they fail in so much as they are dominated by the politically correct passion to erase traces of racism and sexism – a passion which gets all too close to its opposite, neo-conservative thought-control.
