Trump vs. the Press/Media

Recommended Posts

CNN White House Correspondent Jim Acosta went off on the Trump administration for withholding information from the American people by blacking out the White House daily briefing.--

"...Acosta accused the White House of not wanting the American people to see and hear their answers to questions, “When we’re asking important questions about where are the tapes, does the president have recordings of his conversations here at the White House? The White House is refusing to answer those questions on camera, or in any kind of fashion where we can record the audio. My guess is because they want their evasive answers not saved for posterity. That is the only conclusion one could draw.”......

So did they pass a law saying that they can't record? Meaning, what would be the penalty if someone recorded it secretly, and released it anonymously afterward? Other than a complete shut-down of even the ruse of press conferences.

CNN Defies Trump By Airing Full Audio Of Blacked Out White House Briefing-

"There is a mixture of opinion on how to handle Trump’s daily press briefing blackout.

Some networks like CNN carry the briefing in full in the name of informing the public, while MSNBC is carrying only portions of the briefing and denying the President the media attention that he so desperately craves.

There are two schools of thought. One is that the media should not reward Trump’s diminishing of the briefing by giving airtime to the audio only gaggles.

The other is that the public has a right to know, and airing the audio only briefings highlights the absurdity of this administration....

"Trump has switched entirely from press conferences and White House briefings to tweets, rallies, and Fox News interviews – where he can control the message and avoid unfriendly questions....

Trump’s tweets are non-stop.

... He gave an interview that aired this morning on Fox News, filled with boasts (such as that his suggestion about having taped James Comey having the desired effect of "keeping Comey honest") and threats (Special Counsel Robert Mueller has “filled” his staff with cronies of Hillary Clinton so “we’ll have to see” if Mueller keeps his job).

A democracy depends on a free press capable of keeping presidents accountable to the people. Historically, only dictators choose how and when they’ll speak to the public."

I've noticed something interesting that Trump does when he is speaking with someone one-on-one.  During this morning's interview on Fox Friends, Trump looks away from the reporter then looks back just as he is about to launch into another bold-faced lie or whopper.  He often blinks when he first looks back at the person as well.  It is as if he is looking away while preparing to try one on.  It really seems like a telegraph of his lies.

Is that what is called his "tell"?

“What you just did is inflammatory to people all over the country who look at it and see once again the president’s right and everybody else out here is fake media, and everybody in this room is only trying to do their job,” he continued.

Sanders also encouraged Americans to watch a newly released video by James O’Keefe, the conservative filmmaker notorious for using deceptive tactics to smear his subjects,.....

This is the Huckabee gal trying to audition for Spicy's job. There have been a lot of rumors out there about people from Fox, right wingnuts up for this job--(i.e. Laura Ingraham.)

So this was her pathetic attempt to out-Spice Spicy, by showing as much contempt and lack of respect for the White House Press Corps as possible.

Unfortunately, for her, this tactic backfired.

But, I have to give her credit; she's all over the internet now--but not necessarily in a positive way.

So, Sarah Hickabee Sanders' response to the Trump facelift tweet was that we was being 'tough' and that's what the voters wanted.  Hmmm...  Since when did trashing a woman because of her looks become tough?  Sounds more like cyber bullying to me.  And this joker is the POTUS!

So fat old Trump goes after a woman's looks AGAIN and brings up the "blood" reference (which is starting to make my blood boil).  Trump, if he had any smarts at all, would realize that you have to develop a thick skin as President and you can't personally go after everybody who criticizes you.  Show some restraint and dignity but he is incapable of neither.  Of course, we know this about Trump:  he ridicules disabled people, insults women, encourages supporters to beat up black or brown people and hates any journalists who don't fawn over him.  He lies constantly and is totally incompetent.  And God only knows how much money he owes Russia and foreign banks but it's enough to be in the tank for Putin.

By the way, Sarah Huckabee, the people did not elect Trump - the outdated electoral college did.

Brzezinski's response to Trump's tweets....

"It's unbelievably alarming that this president is so easily played," she said. "He's so easily played -- by a cable news host! What is this saying to our allies? What is this saying to our enemies?"

Well that's simple, don't get a face lift in the US.
