Trump vs. the Press/Media

Recommended Posts

I can't believe the new Director of Communications at the White House,

Anthony Scaramucci, actually told the new Press Secretary,

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, live on Nationwide TV, that he wanted her to continue with the new hair and makeup person.

I think he meant it as a compliment, but it didn't really come off that way.

This is about serious American government business, not make believe in Hollywood.

Who does this guy think he is anyway?

-- Jack Warner at Warner Brothers telling Bette Davis how to wear her hair and what kind of makeup she should have in a WB movie.

But since Jack Warner did hire Rex Harrison to play Henry Higgins in

My Fair Lady to teach Eliza Doolittle how to speak " proper " English,

maybe Scaramucci is channeling the right movie mogul.

Anthony Scaramucci advises Sarah Sanders on her hair and makeup-

“The only thing I ask Sarah, Sarah if you’re watching, I love the hair and makeup person that we had on Friday, so I’d like to continue to use the hair and makeup person,” he added....

Although there is reportedly pressure for everyone to dress to Trump’s very specific standards, a source who worked on Trump’s campaign told Axios that Trump expects women who work for him “to dress like women.” Axios reported that women who worked in campaign field offices felt pressure to wear dresses to please Trump....

I think we've already heard this ad nauseam from women who have worked at Trump's hotels and golf resorts.

But at least that's not as bad as what happened to the black employees at the now bankrupt Trump Casino in Atlantic City.

According to employees at the now defunct casino, black people who worked on the floor there were forced to leave momentarily when Trump was coming through.

Apparently they didn't give off the Ambiance that Trump wanted to look at during his patronal visits.

But we must give Trump credit for not firing these people because they didn't give him the right Ambiance. LOL

Sinclair makes Fox look like MSNBC. Since they own Tribune media now,

That explains it.  Although my local daily paper is owned by USA Today, they run opinion columns from Tribune News Service.  Actually ran some before USA Today took over.  I have noticed those columnists are becoming more extremist in their ultra-right wing orthodoxy and support of Trump.

Anthony Scaramucci Dreams of State-Run TV — Let’s See How That’s Working Out in Poland.....

"......Scaramucci might just be serious about his idea to revive the fortunes of the reality TV star in the Oval Office by subjecting Americans to a daily, journalist-free news show designed to flatter his boss.....

....Unsurprisingly, Poland’s government-controlled main channel showed unbridled enthusiasm for the recent visit by Scaramucci’s boss, President Donald Trump, whose anti-Muslim rhetoric is identical to that of the ruling Law and Justice Party. Pulling out all the stops, TVP’s breakfast show even featured a bizarre English-language song in honor of the president, “Trumping and Jumping,”........

Lara Trump’s Debut as 'Real News' Anchor Is Part Fox News, Part Amateur Vlogger, 100 Percent Trump-

"...This video is something of an official debut for Lara, who hasn’t yet taken a visible role in the administration, and it is instantly clear how perfect she is for her current station. Her streaky highlights, exposed décolletage, and glossy lips say “Fox News anchor.” Her glazed-over stare, motionless eyebrows, and deep fake tan say “Trump family.” And her awkward mid-sentence breaths say “amateur vlogger,” the media comfort zone for those ride-or-die Trump supporters who spend the majority of their days watching Alex Jones and prepper videos.

“I bet you haven’t heard about all the accomplishments the president’s had this week,” Lara starts out, “because there’s so much fake news out there!”..........

Breaking news - - this just in--

Trump Thumper Jeffrey Lord has been fired from CNN for using Nazi-related language on Twitter.

For those of us who really did enjoy his comedy, he will be thoroughly missed.

Well, after all, we will always have Paris-- that is Paris Dennard.

He's just as stupid as Jeffrey, but not half as funny.

The World of Cable News Is Trump’s Reality-

"...cable news has always been crazy. CNN, after all, was founded by Ted Turner. (Sample wisdom: “Castro’s not a communist. He’s like me—a dictator.”) MSNBC has gone through more permutations than the late artist formerly and latterly known as Prince. And then there’s Fox. While the first two have often (if not always) prized ratings over news judgment, Fox transformed the genre by its willingness to make stuff up — stuff that, without exception, favored far-right conservatives in their battle against centrists, liberals and reality.....

".....Trump lives and breathes cable news. It’s not just that, like so many ill-informed, emotionally immature and insecure older white men, the guy who has the most powerful and sensitive job on Earth reportedly wastes at least five hours a day with Fox et al. It’s that the crazy world of Sean Hannity and Fox & Friends is his reality. Because Trump possesses little actual knowledge about the real world outside his family and paid fluffers, the lunatic conspiracy theories that make up the programming day at Fox and, to a lesser degree, CNN and MSNBC — with a dollop of Bannon-supplied Breitbart — are the equivalent of scripture.

Not only are Trump’s tweets often plagiarized versions of stupid Fox News arguments; so, too, are his legislative proposals and executive orders...........

....It’s long past time to stop treating Trump like any other legitimate leader and Fox like an actual news network. They are, respectively and collectively, a metastasizing cancer on our body politic."

A WH official tells CNN the image of a train hitting a man/CNN logo was "inadvertently posted" & "immediately deleted" once it was noticed

This criminally insane tweet of Trump showing a train hitting the CNN logo is especially cruel and demented, considering what happened last Saturday in Charlottesville.

With tweets like that, Trump has not just shown support for those

extreme right-wing white domestic terrorists who convened that ugly hateful rally in Charlottesville,

but it looks like he may have joined them!

The man is obviously out of control. So much for the influence of Four Star General Kelly.

"What follows is the article that likely pushed Steve Bannon, President Trump’s chief strategist and architect of his white nationalist messaging, out the White House door. Robert Kuttner, the co-founder and co-editor of this magazine, never expected a phone call from Bannon; the Prospect, after all, is a proudly liberal and defiantly anti-Trump journal. Nonetheless, Bannon called him on Tuesday afternoon, and on Wednesday, we posted Kuttner’s piece—a careful report of what Bannon said and an insightful analysis of why he said it. .....

....

Bannon explained that his strategy is to battle the trade doves inside the administration while building an outside coalition of trade hawks that includes left as well as right. Hence the phone call to me.

There are a couple of things that are startling about this premise. First, to the extent that most of the opponents of Bannon’s China trade strategy are other Trump administration officials, it’s not clear how reaching out to the left helps him. If anything, it gives his adversaries ammunition to characterize Bannon as unreliable or disloyal....

The question of whether the phone call was on or off the record never came up.........

Trump is tearing up the First Amendment. Don’t downplay this. He is running against the press, and endangering journalists in the meantime.

We have a president putting Americans in harm’s way, whether they be protesters or press. Statements from Republicans won’t cut it, folks.

It shouldn’t take protesters and press getting threatened, harassed, attacked, or even killed for Republicans to resemble human beings.

As for Trump questioning the press’s dedication to America, he can say what he likes. Patriotism is an exercise in action, not rhetoric.

Patriots employ critical thinking about America because they want to improve it. They don’t exploit its faults for personal gain or cover.

Trump questions whether journalists love America because he questions whether we love him. In the authoritarian mind, @POTUS is the nation.

We can finally conclude that no leadership from the White House would be better than a hateful divisive leadership that can only create bitter conflicts leading to tragedy.

Here's a ratings highlight Trump could rightfully gloat about but doesn't>“The Rachel Maddow Show” is the #1 Program for All of Cable News

Rachel is a very good and thorough journalist with an indefatigable crew backing her up. She's hard-working, enthusiastic and hard to beat.

However, whether she likes it or not--

Donald Trump is going to have to take half of the credit for her tremendous success.

Because she couldn't have gotten where she is today without his Infamous presidency which, along with Pearl Harbor, will live in infamy in American history.

Rachel Maddow's ratings success is her focus on the Trump/Russian Collusion story. The story keeps alive, with all the players having first lied, and being caught in their lies. Many Americans, upset that Trump colluded and conspired with an adversarial country, have tuned in to Rachel, hoping Trump's actions will unravel his presidency.

ABC News @ABC

Pres. Trump praises Coast Guard for saving people "by going into winds that the media would not go into...unless it's a really good story."

3:37 PM - Sep 2, 2017

"The media apparently considered Hurricane Harvey a “really good story” though, because numerous journalists put themselves in harm’s way to cover the disaster ― often accompanying the very service members Trump was thanking.

In fact, many reporters, including HuffPost’s David Lohr, took part in rescue efforts as they encountered people struggling to survive the storm’s worst effects.......

CNN And MSNBC Refuse To Air Trump’s Fact-Free Speech On Tax Reform-

The White House is complaining because CNN and MSNBC have refused to air President Trump's rambling and fact-free North Dakota speech about tax reform......

http://www.politicususa.com/2017/09/06/cnn-msnbc-refuse-air-trumps-north-dakota-speech-tax-reform.html

they invent a journalistic tenet to allow that or is it just the decades of already established bias which has it's roots in Dan Rather and vietnam?
