Trump vs. the Press/Media

Recommended Posts

Everyone knows FOX news outlet serves as a virtual propaganda tool, but new research shows just how effective they are at it-

"...the research shows that Fox appears driven by its ability to shift its viewership to the right even more than it's guided by its bottom line. According to Vox, the study finds "that Fox isn't setting its ideology where it ought to, to maximize its viewership. It's much more conservative than is optimal from that perspective. But it's pretty close to the slant that would maximize its persuasive power—that would result in the largest rightward movement among viewers.

CNN, by contrast, matched its political stances pretty closely to the viewer-maximizing point, showing less interest in operating as a political agent." CNN and MSNBC are also not as effective at shaping viewers' opinions. "Fox is substantially better at influencing Democrats than MSNBC is at influencing Republicans,".......

Today, the White House press secretary used the people's podium to call for the firing of an individual citizen, @jemelehill. Take that in.

45]tI8_Cgmd_bigger.jpgEmmy F.@emily__abigail

so we should have fired every @FoxNews host who insulted, disrespected, slandered and flat out made up stories about Obama

White Privilege does have its advantages. LOL

Megyn Kelly: It's "absurd" how many reporters are biased against Trump http://hill.cm/PTvLTii

megyn-kelly.jpg?w=670&h=377&crop=1

She thinks she still works at Fox. The first thing she needs to realize is that her own career is decidely on shaky ground, what the French call "moving sand"-- we call it quicksand.

Her ratings have been so dismal at her debut with that Alex Jones lunacy, she's trying to get some publicity somewhere, aside from those warm and cozy fakey promotional spots she's got going on NBC.

But her strategy may be that she will get some Fox people to come over and watch her because she's the Fox friend calling out the bad people at MSNBC.

But I doubt that she'll be around much longer to call anyone out.

After the way trump harassed and insulted her during the primary debates, I'm surprised she has the gall to say anything against people who tell the truth about trump.

"Megyn Kelly’s new NBC hour following the “Today” show, in which the former Fox News star shuns political interviews for a softer, more lifestyle-driven focus, premiered on Monday to jeers from many critics.

The Washington Post’s Hank Stuever was particularly cutting: “The debut was like watching a network try to assemble its own Bride of Frankenstein, using parts of Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Ripa and whatever else it can find.”...........

Kelly began the hour by declaring herself “kind of done with politics for now.” The former Fox News Anchor, who moderated multiple Republican presidential debates during the last presidential election, said she will seek instead to provoke “a smile, sometimes a tear, and maybe some hope to start your day.”

“We will be dissecting the latest tweet from President Trump,” Kelly said on the show, before making it clear that she was joking: “Oh no, we will not be doing that.”......

"The president dismissed our reporting, saying it's not true, and that our sources are made up. Those sources, however, do exist. In fact, three of them were in the room when the president talked about dramatically increasing the number of US nukes," Lester Holt says tonight on NBC NightlyNews.

This is the exclusive NBC News report on the meeting that came before Sec. Tillerson called the president a moron. http://nbcnews.to/2gc9hr3

Fake News Alert: Media Conglomerates Convince FCC That Facebook Can Replace Local News Stations

"In a ruling seen as a major win for the largest media conglomerates in the country, the Federal Communications Commission voted to repeal the Main Studio Rule, a 77-year-old regulation that required local television and radio broadcasters to maintain physical studios in the communities they serve.

The Tuesday vote, along party lines, with Republican commissioners supporting repeal, clears the way for major media companies to continue buying up local stations and eliminating positions for journalists, while centralizing programming decisions.

One of the primary arguments made by media companies petitioning the FCC for the repeal was that social media renders local stations an anachronistic requirement of the past.........

RT may be unstoppable in its mission to propagandize gullible Americans

"Even though it has been determined that the Russian government uses its state-sponsored news organization in order to spread propaganda to the American public, there are limits to how far the U.S. government can go to remedy the situation, at least immediately.

For one thing, although the Department of Justice gave RT — Russia's state-sponsored news network — until Oct. 17 to register as a foreign agent, the network announced its refusal to comply last week. This puts the U.S. government in a difficult bind when it comes to further pursuing the matter, especially since RT has declared that it is "doing everything possible" to avoid having to register.

"There is no question that RT has the support of the Russian government, financial support of the Russian government,".....

That's something you don't see every often on TV anymore--a

munchkin on speed.  As one can imagine with a state propaganda

network, the audience numbers might be a bit exaggerated.

Right wingers have disliked the Post long before Bezos bought it.

And they can monitor the paper's CIA reporting if they so desire.

At least the Post is not a government financed propaganda operation

like RT, formerly Russia Toady, is.

In thinking about some of this it occurred to me that Trump has no reason to complain about media attacks on him and his administration.  The media treats all in office with suspicion and mistrust until the target proves it unwarranted.  After all, HE chose to run for the office.  He should have KNOWN what he was getting into.  ;)

I would imagine that most of the regular readers of the Post know that

Amazon has a $600 million contract with the CIA. They can adjust their

opinion of its news coverage of the CIA accordingly. However hard folks

may try, the Post is still not supported by the U.S. government as RT

is by the Russian government. I think the Post's coverage of Donny MAGA

proves that quite convincingly.
