55-42: Senate BLOCKS the House-passed bill expanding access to VA healthcare and disability benefits for veterans exposed to toxins during their military service (PACT Act) from advancing to final passage. 60 votes were needed.

The Republicans had previously voted IN FAVOR of the bill.  Hypocrites.

As usual Paul is wrong.  The Veterans Administration considers many factors before determining that a condition is service connected.  There must be a nexus, both medically and with service.  It is often a years long process.

A common theme at CPAC made clear by Viktor Orban is that white conservatives must seize power and hold onto it as it is they who are under attack and are threatened by everyone else around the world.

Nothing new here - that goes back as far as Goldwater and Reagan.

Just add to that that in exchange for brazen bigoted grievances being spouted nonstop from the podium to keep the supporters happy the GOP is empowered to move toward a kleptocracy where their thievery is allowed to flourish unchecked.

Lauren Boebert will say the GOP leadership has 'disappointed her too many times' during her CPAC speech and will suggest opposing McCarthy's bid for speaker if he doesn't pursue a MAGA agenda

Freedom Caucus Rep. Lauren Boebert will tell the party she has been 'disappointed too many times' in a fiery speech at CPAC, telling the audience and colleagues she is 'ready for battle.' On the list of Boebert's proposed priorities are 'end medical tyranny, secure the southern border and fire Anthony Fauci.' She will say that any Republican opposed to these points will 'not have my support. Not in their re-election and certainly not for speaker.'

The actual issue is that funds for school lunches may be denied if a state or school system discriminates in areas unrelated to school lunches.  Specifically state laws prohibiting athletes from competing in sports other than those of their births and others.
