The Trump admin will need a bigger life raft then the one used in the Hitchcock film Lifeboat for all the officials that have to recuse themselves. (and to be in the same boat as Sessions; that is cruel and unusual punishment!).

Bogie56
So how do Trump's 3 main supporters here view his idea of inviting the Russians to help with the U.S. cyber security for the upcoming elections? Good idea? Dumb idea? Is your emperor capable of a dumb idea? I would propose that he is either far too stupid to be president or he is a puppet of a foreign government - or both of course.

You don't think it would be better to be straight up? That would take some spine, of course. We all know bullies do not have spines when it comes right down to it.

That would take some spine, of course. We all know bullies do not have spines when it comes right down to it. Diplomacy often requires a degree of dishonesty when dealing with an adversary. Often transparency is the wrong course of action. Foreign relations with adversaries is like poker; don't let them know what your holding, bluff, etc... The above has nothing to do with Trump but just the nature of how to deal with adverse foreign nations. As for Trump dealing with Putin; Trump has been way to open with Putin, putting his own interest ahead of the nations, by providing Putin with inside info and promises. So that explains it. Donny has been lying to his Deplorables, in tweets and speeches, and that makes for a more affable relationship. Trump's poll numbers would really tank if he told them the truth. NipkowDisc
if trump were actually removed from office, it would criminalize political discourse. it would be like impeaching teddy roosevelt because some people found "Bully! Bully!" too crude.
film lover 293
NipkowDisc--ROT! 1. The phrase which Theodore Roosevelt coined is "bully pulpit", which meant being in a public, prominent position (such as the Presidency) that gave people an opportunity to speak out and be listened to. The phrase "Bully Bully" dates from the 1800s and meant "good job", or agreement with the speaker. 2. A Grand Jury has been impanelled on the Russian probe. This DOES mean that a CRIMINAL, not counterintelligence probe is going on. It is VERY LIKELY that evidence of a crime(s) has been found, and subpoenas will be issued. The process continues. It has NOTHING to do with civil political discourse/disagreements in the House or Senate, or civil disagreements on this message board! If Trump is removed from office, it will be for something major; if his Tweets were impeachable offenses, he'd already be history, and President Pence would be the object of discussion. That's constitutional and that's the way the Democracy works.

Yes, the Senators decide and since the majority are Republicans, Nip can't complain that they would vote to convict unless there were serious criminal charges. I do wonder what happens if there is a tie. Does the V.P get a vote in a situation like this? Typically yes, but here it would be a conflict of interest. But while I don't want Pence as President, it would be funny to see Pence break a tie by voting to convict Trump!

ChristineHoard
Yeah, and people freaked out when McCain voted "No" on the healthcare repeal. Imagine the reaction if Pence voted for conviction. Heads would explode! That would be a sight! He wants to be president so bad he can taste it yet still praises Trump to the skies. If it came down to a tie, I think Pence would vote Trump out. He knows, because he's seen it as we all have, that Trump is loyal to no one.
