rayban
It's an interesting film - and it's in black and white, too - and, when Elvis Presley sings, he owns the screen - but, as a screen personality, I find him very unappealing. Of his later formulaic films for MGM, I can only like "Viva Las Vegas" with Ann-Margret and "Speedway" with Nancy Sinatra. Most of the others are almost impossible to sit through.

His films from 1965 on are really substandard. I think his best screen work came earlier. And I'm partial to the Paramount titles produced by Hal Wallis (the ones TCM almost never airs). ROUSTABOUT is probably my favorite.
