Please help me figure out this movie....

Years ago I saw a movie but I can't remember the title or cast.   Every once and a while I'll think of it and it drives me crazy that I can't find it.   This is what I remember of the plot:   A man and a woman are having an affair and it ultimately culminates with the woman's husband shooting both of them when he catches them together in a field ( or someplace outside).  The woman crawls to her dead lover before she dies.   See why I'm having a hard time finding it?  Any one have any guesses?   Thanks for your help

Kind'a sounds like the ending of 1949's CRISS CROSS, memphisbelle.

 

Dan Duryea(the husband) guns down Burt Lancaster and Yvonne De Carlo(his wife) as they cling to each other in this taut well made crime caper film noir.

(...wait a minute...never mind...he guns 'em down inside a beach house, not outside...and so this might not be the film you're tryin' to remember here)
