Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Someone PLEASE help me - I've been looking for almost 40 years for the name of the song/band/record that Paul Newman plays throughout the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof movie. This same song is played in the 1957 movie "Man on Fire" - in the scene when Bing Crosby and Inger Stevens are sitting in the car outside of "Luigi's". So I'm guessing it might have been a popular song around the 1956-1958 time frame, since "Cat..." was also made during that time.

I don't know if this can help you, but On Dinah Washington's cd "The Complete Dinah Washington" on Mercury, Vol 4. (which spans years 1954-1956), it's featured a song called " (A) Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", which was written by Roy Alfred & Abner Silver, it seems, around 1956....hope this is the one!!
