Really good article on the protests in Iran from German newspaper Rote Fahne.

In the last few days, there are more than 3,000 people arrested during the protests. Two were killed in prison by torture, a 13-year-old boy and a young man. Around 50 people were killed in the protests. Currently, many people are in their cities in front of the prisons and want to bring the prisoners back home. The regime has tried to occupy large cities like Tehran and especially Kurdistan with military. Now we see that in small towns much more go out on the street than in big cities.

People know that Iran is a rich country. But millions are unemployed, do not have a secure job. At the same time, people are seeing the government sending funds to Yemen, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Palestine to support and arm terrorist groups. They also see people being jailed and tortured if they open their mouths. Regarding the future, they no longer hope: "Maybe it will be even better." They clearly know that things can not get better this way; That's why they act.
