Back when the superb Premiere mag was around they....

How many of you still either saved or recall Premiere magazine?  It ran from (1997-2002)

Personally I've always felt EW ran them out of town, not because it was better, but it came out weekly instead of monthly

But Premiere used to have an in house, editors, critics poll-(not allowing us fans to ive our 2 cents?)

Each month they would select a top ten greatest for each genre-(NOTE: I save all my issues, but the are buried in boxes)

Westerns: The Searchers-(NOTE: I do recall High Noon was up there though)

War: Apocalypse Now

Crime: The Godfather & I think GFII was tied?

Mystery/Suspense: Vertigo

Musicals: Wizard of 0z-(Singin In the Rain was right behind it though)

Sci Fi: 200l

Comedy: Some Like it Hot-(same as AFI''s 100yrs...100 Laughs  (2000)

Thrillers/Horror: Bride of Frankestein-(Night of the Hunter was another one close behind)

Drama: Kane

Adventures: The Adventures of Robin Hood

Can't think of anymore right now off the top of my head. I do remember Metropolis was a runner up)
