cinemaspeak59
Not taking into account the costume, Godzilla/Gojira continues to impress. I've come to appreciate Godzilla's blood-curdling roar, and also the film's quiet scenes, notably the spooky ocean at night, creating dread at the monster lurking below. Oh, and about that costume: it still looks damn good, as the tight shots show the texture of the scales, and the horns running down Godzilla's back, which glow when Godzilla exhales his fire, are a nice feature. Is Godzilla the king of all monsters? Or is Kong king? There are movies in the pipeline that may help us find out. Then again, why spoil the debate.
