Sgt_Markoff
Without looking at the other replies in this thread, I'll rattle off a few of my favorites: "Fantasy action adventures". Meh! Though its not a genre I ever give much thought to, nor ever dwell on overmuch. I dislike Indiana Jones, and I have a hard time coming up with very many titles, but here goes: The Long Ships The Thief of Baghdad The Adventures of Robin Hood Jason and the Argonauts Le Belle et la Bette Black Orpheus Orphee' Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea Journey to the Center of the Earth Journey to the Top of the World She The Wizard of Oz Gunga Din The Man Who Would Be King Time Bandits The Naked Prey Seven Faces of Doctor Lao Time After Time The Time Machine Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Hidden Fortress The Mark of Zorro The Court Jester The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad The Flame and the Arrow The Crimson Pirate Swashbuckler any Errol Flynn romp Seven Seas to Calais The Naked Jungle Secret of the Incas
Sgt_Markoff
From the list I posted just above --if I have to pick just one purely fantasy adventure --it would be Korda's 'Thief of Baghdad' even though I did not grow up with it. I'd be willing to name it the top all-time fantasy. The others in the list can mostly be classed variously such as 'action adventure' or what-have-you. And therefore discounted. For instance, 'Robin Hood' is not a fantasy action adventure.
