John Bromfield is definitely feeling the heat -

I think of John Bromfield as the male Jayne Mansfield: he had it and he loved to show it off. I mean, that big lady-font monogram right next to his....well.....you know.

It must have been a relief to Tab to have a break from studio photo ops with Warner's starlets. His face looks like he's straining so hard not to look down and to the left while the camera's still on him. Hope it worked out for these two.

DougieB, I do have a feeling that it did work out for the both of them.

We should thank the gay guy  in charge of costumes at Universal who got Mr Bronfield the tiniest swimsuit that the Haye's office could allow

If they're all naval cadets, I'd like to invite them to lunch.

The Navy must have approved this as good recruitment video for future gay cadets . The director knew exactly where to place the camera and the editor did an excellent job.   The director is obviously a classic movie fan with visual references to Esther Willams and Busby Berkley. A really fun video and not just because of the Navy eye candy like who doesn't want to jump in the pool with these guys?

18 year old Charlton Heston; who looks as if he is ready for Corbin Fisher photo shoot ;walks around shirtless and gets tied up (?!) is this silent movie made by a friend who obviously saw star potential in Mr Heston's All American good looks

Rock Hudson in "Hornet's Nest" from 1970 -

Rock plays an Army officer who is downed behind enemy lines - the Nazis in Italy -

Rock is forced to head up a thoroughly wild bunch of boys in an effort to destroy a strategically-placed dam -

Rock is so hard-bitten he almost doesn't need weapons -

and the boys are scarier than a horror flick -

Rock even rapes the female doctor whom the boys are holding in captivity -

this film will scare the socks off of you -

This is actually one of my favorite Rock Hudson movies. I like the concept-- it's sort of a war film meets Disney.

And I think Rock is a lot grittier here. In the early 70s he stopped being pretty on screen, or I should stay, stopped doing prettified characters and situations.
