NipkowDisc
Equal, equality; Liberty, Liberty are words from the Declaration of Independence. What you call liberal social terms are terms that Thomas Jefferson utilized in the Declaration of Independence to put down the founding principles of the United States of America, July 4th, 1776. If you don't agree with that wording, then Apparently you don't agree with The Declaration of Independence, the principles for which this country stands. well, I do know this. it is an absolute physical impossibility for anyone to enjoy the fruits of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness if they are not first permitted to be born. Princess of Tap
the right can like Frederick Douglass because he spoke reasonably and not just emotionally. Don't you think people are Americans first before they are anything else. Can't you just like someone because they made a great contribution to American history? Or do you have to take it through some kind of litmus test that somebody else is giving you because you're considering yourself to be a right wing person. I judge people by the principles of this country as they were written down in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I don't need anybody else or any group of people any place, on any TV cable news channel , on any radio program, or any political party or any newspaper or any on-line magazine or anything else to tell me what's right and what's wrong. I've known that since I was in the 1st grade.

ChristineHoard
THAT'S what I'm talking about. Are you so locked into your own little world that you can't understand the contributions of the whole fabric of humanity - different races, different sexes, etc.? Now that's sad. Princess of Tap
45]Jake TapperVerified account @jaketapper More I'm reminded that veteran/American icon Jackie Robinson concluded the preface to his autobiography this way: Jackie Robinson The American baseball player who broke the color bar of Jim Crow segregation in Major League Baseball Recipient, Presidential Medal of Freedom Member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame Jackie Robinson had to take racial slurs and humiliating indignities to play baseball with white players in 1947. It's truly tragic that the President of the United States, who is supposed to be the representative and protector of all Americans, has nothing better to do today than to racially insult American professional athletes who are black. Most Americans do not want to go back 70 years and repeat all the mistakes of the past. This country has progressed in 70 years and I don't believe most Americans are going to let one person drag us back into the dark ages of racism, misogyny and homophobia. ChristineHoard
not once has trump criticized kaepernick and the other kneelers on the basis of race. He doesn't have to. If he has any inkling that Kaepernick originally knelt to protest rogue cops shooting innocent black people, he would know. That and the fact that the NFL is 70% black. Trump knew what he was doing and he didn't have to specifically mention race. But what he didn't count on was the compadreship among players of all races, religions, economics and including coaches and owners and even some owners who have given money to Trump (Bob Kraft, Patriots). Even Roger Goodell called him out. It's called being a team and sticking together, Donny.
