DownGoesFrazier
Seeing "The Big Heat" again yesterday reminded me what a great noir it is.
HollywoodGolightly
I agree, finance, I think it's one of the best - and Fritz Lang could definitely take credit for a lot of the look of noirs, I think, due to his early work in German expressionism, which inspires noir visually to some extent. I am waiting to watch another Lang noir, Ministry of Fear. Have you seen it?
DownGoesFrazier
Yes, but it's not as good as "The Big Heat", "Scarlet Street", or "The Woman in the Window".
HollywoodGolightly
Ah, all is well, I have already seen those 3 Lang films, but this one I'm going to be watching for the first time.

Awesome! That one was a surprise. She looks lovely, doesn't she? I wish the print of the film was as clean. This movie and The Reckless Moment are my favorite Joan B movies. FrankGrimes
That one was a surprise. She looks lovely, doesn't she? Mmmmmmmmm hmmmmm! I wish the print of the film was as clean. I know. I'd love to see it sneak into the next Warner Film Noir box set, but I'm not holding my breath. This movie and The Reckless Moment are my favorite Joan B movies. Bite your tongue! What about the Lang flicks? Have you ever seen The Macomber Affair?

Actually, the setting for CLOSELY WATCHED TRAINS is during the Czech resistance to the Nazis during WWII, a theme explored in noir director Fritz Lang's HANGMEN ALSO DIE!.
