msladysoul
Tonight watching the Rita documentary has made me a fan. I liked her before, but now I really like her. Once, I heard her story. It shows me that all stars aren't what they appear to be onscreen and how a lot of them don't want to be movie stars and don't really care for the beauty and lights. I guess when you hear a person's story, your mind changes about them. Rita didn't care much for the movies but she was so natural. I guess when you don't try hard, it just comes out natural. I wish they would do a documentary on Ann Sheridan, she was up there with Rita in the 1940s, I think she was the third top Pin-up Girl, Betty Grable was number one and Rita number two. Ann was wonderful, I enjoy her very much. She really intrigues me. She's a natural and beautiful also. She has a story of triumph and tragedy also. A few films Hayworth got, Sheridan suppose had starred in but was on suspension. I was reading a magazine from 1939, it was a layout called Ann Sheridan vs. Hedy Lamarr and that America had to vote who was going to be the "Oomph" Girl. Obviously Sheridan won. I wish TCM would consider doing something on her, because she's fading from the public. If your not an Ann Sheridan fan, you will be if they happened to do a story. But I am glad their focusing on doing documentaries on people other then Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Joan Crawford, and Bette Davis. I sent an email to Turner. If you all agree their should be a story send the email I sent below to Turner Classic Movies. Hello, Tonight I seen the Rita Hayworth documentary. Which was very good. Watching her documentary sparked my interest in her, which I wasn't a fan before, of course I heard of her but never was a fan. This documentary made me want to email you to let you know there's many other Legends who's story needs to be told. I wanted to suggest could you do a documentary on Ann Sheridan. Many fans would like to know about her. Not only that many people will become fans, like I became a fan of Rita Hayworth after seeing the documentary tonight. Ann Sheridan was a big star in her time. She has sort of triumph and tragedy story like Rita Hayworth. I wish Turner Classic Movies will attempt to do a story on her. Please keep this Legend name alive because it is fading from the public. Only Turner Classic Movies can keep her name alive and do such a documentary. Ann Sheridan's story needs to be told. Please do so. Thanks
lipski2162
I also found the documentary very interesting and am now a fan of Rita Hayworth. What a sad end to her life. It seems to me that many movie stars had and have really crappy lives and that all the fame and money aren't worth it.
feaito
I Like very much both female stars...I'm even lucky enough to own an authentic 1940's portrait of Ann Sheridan, dedicated and signed (to another person of course, I'm not that old...).... She reminds me of another beautiful red-headed star of that era...the lovely Maureen O'Hara "queen of technicolor"... I also agree that TCM should make documentaries on another actors and actresses, than the usual stuff (Monroe, James Dean, etc)....I'd like to watch documentaries on Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Havilland, Ann Harding, Ruth Chatterton, Norma Shearer, Mary Astor, Robert Montgomery, Chester Morris, Irene Dunne.....et al TCM we want more from you!!! msladysoul
Feaito- I agree I would like to see a documentary on Ruth Chatteron, Mary Astor, Myrna Loy, Susan Hayward, Joan Blondell, Glenda Farrell, Gene Tierney, Veronica Lake, Marsha Hunt. I would love to know more about them. They previously have done documentaries on Marlene Dietrich, Lana Turner, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis and Ruby Keeler. Also, I wish Robert Osborne would interview Marsha Hunt, Evelyn Keyes, Joan Fontaine, and the few others who are left alive. There's a show Mr. Osborne does interviews with stars I've seen the one he did with June Allyson, and Mickey Rooney. Yes, we do have to holler for more. We keep their channel going and their stars alive.
catcarson123
I also enjoyed the documentary on Rita Hayworth. TCM documentaries are always good. I only wish it would have been about a half-hour longer. They didn't have time to talk about some of her other good & interesting films. They also didn't talk about all the films she starred in with Glenn Ford. I would love to see new TCM documentaries on Ann Sheridan, Claudette Colbert, William Powell, Jean Arthur, Myrna Loy, Edward G. Robinson, Irene Dunne, Olivia de Havilland, Rosalind Russell, and other big stars from the 1930s.

classicsfan1119
I finally was able to see the Rita Hayworth documentary for the first time yesterday, and I found it to be excellent in every way! I wasn't aware that Rita was married to Dick Haymes and what a SOB he was, which will undoubtedly affect my listening pleasure of the two CD's I have of his singing from today forward. I also agree with so many others who have contributed to this thread that there are a great many other actresses for whom we'd love to see documentaries, or interviews. Everyone listed so far by people in this thread is truly worthy! Give it some thought, TCM!
