I think it provides a (potentially;-) excellent forum for discussing some great films, even though I may not agree that all of Sydney Pollack's suggestions are essential. So many people have cable now that there's no longer any "water-cooler chat" about shows on ABC, CBS, or NBC the previous night - the spectrum is too diverse!
