High Noon cast

Wow, April....interesting photo...I was looking at each one...both ladies are definitely still in character...right down (or maybe up) to their eyebrows... but the men...maybe Bridges is sort of in character..but Coop is way too easy going compared to his role in the film. If you had never seen the movie, but just saw this photo..you might walk away w/ a whole different idea of the two men and their characters in the story. This is one instance where just a simple tilt of a hat and a little grin can change everything. Wonder if this photo was just for fun, or if they "directed" each person's pose. Inquiring minds wanna know. :-)

Like most photos taken on the set, they probably didn't give a whole lot of thought as to whether they should be "in character" or just be themselves. I remember a sort-of similar photo of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill when they were shooting *The Empire Strikes Back* - you didn't know if they felt they were supposed to be in character or just smile naturally for the photographer. B-)

I know what you mean, Kathy---I thought Gary looked way too happy there but then he's

sandwiched between two beautiful women, his favorite "pose" so I suppose he couldn't

help himself. ;)

That's about the most likely explanation there probably is, April! Yes, which man wouldn't be happy "sandwiched" between Grace Kelly and Katy Jurado? B-)

gun almost looks chocolate-dipped and it's making me hungry

Now that you mention it...there is a big pan of chocolate/peanut butter fudge in my fridge that it just calling my name...I guess I could cut it into the shape of a tiny pistol first...but I think that would just take too much time. :-)

Oh yeah....

Guess what I'm watching:

Isn't that the one with Katherine Hepburn in it?? (HA!! ) :-)

I was going to try to talk my husband into watching Rio Bravo later.(It is an old favorite of ours) I got the DVD a long time ago, but haven't opened the case until the other night when I was cooking my turkey....and of course...I was too tired and well...you know. So I still have a "Rio Bravo" mindset...I really did try to watch it, but I only got as far as the part where Ricky Nelson gets deputized...and the next thing I knew the timer was going off on my oven and I woke up looking at the main menu of the DVD.. (I am just pitiful.)

Maybe after the short person hits the hay later, I can talk him into watching that one first...and then Hondo later...a double feature...of course we've both been such couch potatoes the last couple of days...and with all that turkey working on us...I bet we'll be lucky to make it through even one. You know...soft couch, a warm blanket...and a belly full of turkey...talk about a triple threat.

Incredibly, I still do not have *Rio Bravo* on DVD, even though it's a favorite. There are

just so many editions out there and I keep hoping to find the best one on sale or something.

There's a really nicely packaged version but it's too expensive and I haven't seen a decent

"Black Friday" deal on it yet. I'll keep searching.

If you don't make it through *Hondo*, here's a few screencaps to tide you instead:

I like these scenes because while he's talking they show him doing

the kind of chores you really would do around a ranch.

I'm surprised if there isn't a good deal around, somewhere. I'll keep an eye out. B-)

It actually sounds like a great way to start off Thanksgiving weekend... ;)

Hope you'll make it through the movies, and if not, get some great sleep. B-)

Hey Thanks for the Hondo...we did not get to that one....but we did at least watch Rio Bravo. I got my copy at ...where else...WalMart...it is not a bad one either...it's a "Two Disc Special Edition" and has pretty good picture and sound (at least by my standards anyway) and there are some extras but I haven't checked them out, as well as a nice collections of "postcard" type photo stills. And of course...as an extra bonus...that great Walmart price was a big incentive. :-) (If memory serves it was around $13) I bought way back in the late summer or early fall. I can't believe it's taken me this long to open it up, but since I had seen it before, I guess I wasn't in such a hurry as I would have been otherwise.
