MissGoddess
I hope you do and then we can do a good "ramble" on it! I know we sort of touched on it when you got the DVD, but now you know how to make screencaps....hint....hint...
rohanaka
screencaps....hint....hint Ha....I only just got started on those and then Rio Bravo sort of interupted me... but I am already thinking I need to pick up where I left off... because I suddenly have a serious case of Western Ramble Fever...ha. :-)

rohanaka
Here is a little "preview"...ha. PS.. Now I HAVE to hurry up and watch this again... We don't want to keep poor Hondo just standing around waiting forever. :-)
MissGoddess
Ah...what a shot. I just learned a little tidbit about the script. John Wayne apparently patterned some of the characterization of "Hondo Lane" on director Victor Fleming. In fact, he had "San Dimas" mentioned in the script----because San Dimas was where he and Fleming used to go hunting and fishing together when Wayne was younger. Fleming was a man who left a big footprint in the imaginations of many who knew him personally. Message was edited by: MissGoddess
rohanaka
San Dimas was where he and Fleming used to go hunting and fishing together when Wayne was younger I don't know anything about Fleming... but if he is anything like HONDO.... and if the Duke was as "rough and tumble" a young man as I imagine he might have been.. I bet they were right at home w/ the WILDlife. :-)

CineMaven
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :-) ooooooooooooooooooooooooo... before there was Matthew McConaughey, there was George Bancroft, ey?
Bronxgirl48
George O'Brien had more sex appeal in his pinkie than Matthew or any of these modern jerk actors have in their entire bodies!! And now that you mention Bancroft, he was sort of attractive in that burly kind of way. And I'm very attracted to Tom Tyler as Luke Plummer in STAGECOACH. (never knew he was so good-looking, because the only role I knew him in was as Kharis in one of the Universal mummy movies) Message was edited by: Bronxgirl48

Apparently, he was an athlete and model. Message was edited by: cinemafan to fix my margins!
