hlywdkjk
*"A striking, simple brilliant poster."* - joefilmone I think so too. I like this "insert size" better than the one-sheet version. (And this may be another Saul Bass creation.) Here's a smaller size so one can see the image in its entirety. Kyle In Hollywood

patful
Great poster, Kyle. I haven't seen that one yet. Is Lorre's skin really green in the movie? Looking forward to all of the Lorre films, especially *Crime and Punishment* . Thanks.

FrankGrimes
Excellent poster, Kylefornia! Like Patful, I'm also looking forward to the Lorre sampler tonight. I will be taping three of the films. Are you ready for Gabby Hayes' birthday?
hlywdkjk
I can see why you would like *Island Of Doomed Men*. It's a phrase that could - most days - describe your existence in these Forums, isn't it? This year, I am leaving it to you to celebrate Gabby Hayes Day in these parts. I did my part last year. hlywdkjk
*"Thank you for spotlighting Doug,Sr. It's a beautiful poster, too!"* - lzcutter I knew you'd approve. It's just too bad that you're not home to see it. (Book Tours can be such a drag, huh?) Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to post some other Doug, Sr. images one of these days. Let's see. What hints did we drop a week ago? *Robin Hood*, *The Thief Of Bagdad* .... Kyle In Hollywood
lzcutter
Chief, I did manage to see it tonight. It was an awesome print, restored by Flicker Alley and my old professor, David Shepard, with a top notch score by Mont Alto Orchestra. I'm glad I rushed home (yes, they can be a drag but a lot of fun as well) and got back with just moments to spare. Color me happy. I'm hoping, hoping hoping for *Robin Hood*, *The Three Musketeers* and *The Iron Mask*. But, most of all, a documentary. I love Doug. (And yes, for inquiring minds, Mr Cutter knows and is cool with it.)
gagman66
I can help with the Fairbanks posters. I must have a least 3 dozen of them. Most are not posted on photobucket though yet. Where ZORRO is concerned, it turned out that the original camera negative had somehow survived! A fresh 35 Millimeter fine-grain master print was struck from that negative. That's why it looks so good. All previous versions on VHS, Laser-disc, and DVD were from worn old prints. Some only 16 Millimeter. This was a brand new 35 Millimeter master. The way it would have looked when first screened. For anyone who missed part of the broadcast, and is desperate to see the rest of the movie, don't forget the version is on DVD from Flicker Alley. Should also mention that a fresh fine grain was recently stuck from the Camera Negative of THE GAUCHO as well,. So maybe we will be seeing that in the not to distant future? The print was truly a cut-above. Only one scene had some very brief deterioration early on. The clarity was just amazing. Makes you all the more want to see what THE BIG PARADE looks like from that long lost original camera negative found at George Eastman House! Then people ask me why I am losing patience after waiting year after year since 2004.

JackFavell
Jeff, That print was fantastic except for that one spot..... even my husband noticed how beautiful it was. I was surprised at how much he liked the look of the movie, especially the color and depth.

Bronxgirl48
Kyle, wonderfully lurid ISLAND OF DOOMED MEN poster. I tried to stay up and watch it, but fell asleep, and then I woke up to the part where Lorre is even nasty to animals: "Keep that monkey away from me!" Never knew Rochelle Hudson was so beautiful. Do you have one for the campy circus melodrama CARNIVAL STORY, airing tomorrow, with Anne Baxter, Steve Cochran, Lyle Bettger, and George Nader? She was a Fox contractee, I believe. Very lovely girl. I recorded *Island of Doomed Men* (we finally got a fix on where FrankGrimes lives!) but haven't watch it yet.
