HollywoodGolightly
I really like the "Buy Extra Bonds" poster, with stars from all different studios coming together for the war effort. Anyone know who the actor is between Robert Taylor and Robert Montgomery?

JackFavell
I am trying to figure out the one next to Douglas Fairbanks Jr. on the right and the guy below him.... they look so familiar. And I'm sorry, but Ty looks ridiculous......what happened to his neck?
hlywdkjk
*"I am trying to figure out the one next to Douglas Fairbanks Jr. on the right..." - JackFavell How about Lew Ayers? But something tells me that is VERY wrong. Kyle In Hollywood
lzcutter
*"I am trying to figure out the one next to Douglas Fairbanks Jr. on the right..." - JackFavell* My first guess would be Ray Milland. As for Tyrone Power's neck, I agree, where did it go?
movieman1957
Lew Ayers sounds good. Not sure about the guy under him. Power's cut and paste job seems to have gone awry.
HollywoodGolightly
Thank you, visualfeast! Ladd looks so different with that cap on. As for Tyrone Power's neck, I'm afraid it was victim to a rather poor cut-and-paste job. They had no photoshop back in the days of WW2!
hlywdkjk
*"Lew Ayers sounds good."* - movieman1957 Well, it did sound good. But, as I feared, probably not true. Lew Ayers was a conscientious objector during WWII. He was in a labor camp before agreeing to "serve" in a non-combat medical capacity. http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/participant.jsp?spid=7465&apid=98485 I doubt they would put him in military garb on a War Bond poster. Back to square one. Kyle In Hollywood
HollywoodGolightly
If not Lew Ayres, could it be Dennis Morgan or Joel McCrea? And is Audie Murphy the one to the right of Tyrone Power?

Birdae
Kyle - I haven't been on in a while and just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy this thread. I find it very relaxing and sometimes even giggle. Still my favorite - Flying Down to Rio. B (Used to be Birdy but I classed it up. Okay, actually, I couldn't get my new email address to register under my old name.) FrankGrimes
Hola, Kylefornia! -- I've been meaning to thank you for the Marnie and Rear Window posters. Those are excellent! They both brought a big smile to my face. FrankGrimes told me Hitchcock was God. Kyle (don't know what he calls Fritz Lang) In Hollywood Lang is the Prince of Darkness. hlywdkjk
*"I've been meaning to thank you for the Marnie and Rear Window posters. Those are excellent! They both brought a big smile to my face."* Two Hitchcock posters (including one with Miss Kelly!) in a single week. What can I say? I guess I was distracted with "The Great War" series. And does Mr. Lewton know that Mr. Lang is "The Prince Of Darkness"? Fickle, fickle... Kyle In Hollywood
