Hi, moviebuffer12,

Since my original post got way back there, there were a couple of other things you probably missed about shaping the schedule:

1. As Kyle also mentioned, each day's schedule each day should start at 6AM. You have them starting in the evening at 8PM. So, for example:

March 4th, 2008

6:00 AM first movie title of the day

and then going through until the last film around 4AM or so

then

March 5, 2008

6:00 AM first movie title of this day

etc.

2. The Keaton shorts and films should show a studio.

3. With regards to time again, there are the opposite problems, too. Putting a film in a time slot much too long. For example, you have Dr. Strangelove, a 97-minute movie in a 165-minute time slot. That would be about an hour between movies, something TCM doesn't like to do. In scheduling, you have to keep the viewer tuned in and that means not having much time between films.

Phew, I'm going back to bed and hope my computer plays nice until the Challenge is over.

"Is this even better?" - moviebuffer12

I fear you may be feeling exhasperated. And I don't want you to feel picked on or get frustrated, 'moviebuffer'. I think it is fine and very good Challenge submission. If you want to make any more tweaks to the schedule, you can. I will still keep the submission window open until 5pm today. But if you are happy with it as it stands right now then I would leave it alone.

This is really meant to be a fun exercise and I'd hate for you to not be having "fun" at participating.

I will make sure everyone knows that your schedule week runs from a Monday to a Sunday when posting the voting thread.

"I fear you may be feeling exhasperated."-

Don't worry, I'm having fun. I'm glad that the other board members caught my mistakes. I'm trying to get the best schedule possible. I hopefully now have the perfect schedule following all of the rules.

I will make sure everyone knows that your schedule week runs from a Monday to a Sunday when posting the voting thread

The reason I had the schedule run from Monday to Sunday is beacuse Sunday to Saturday would conflict with the 31 Days of Oscar and I really wanted to cover Rex Harrison's 100th birthday. Thanks for understanding though.

Right after I said I was having no trouble voting earlier, I couldn't even logout. Now I can't open the thread either. Funny that this has happened right around the time of the last two (or is it three?) challenges. Might have something to do with all those old threads being revived last week?

Note: I just opened the voting thread again, with no more trouble than any of the other threads as of late. I don't think it's your thread, Kyle, just the buggy board.

I'm glad you were able to open the voting thread, patful; I'm still getting a blank page.

I haven't noticed this problem with any other thread. General bugginess in the board -- yes. But not a blank thread.

Hello All -

Can't figure out what problem(s) there may be that is causing such difficulty in opening / displaying the voting thread. I know how frustrating it can be.

Here are two "tricks" that may help those still struggling to get in there and read / vote.

First, try opening the thread by clicking on the name of the last poster instead of using the title of the voting thread. That worked for me once. (I also right-click on the link and choose "Open In A New Window". If the page fails to load, I can hit "refresh" once or twice and often it will finally load - though sometimes it loads an outdated page from my browser's cache.)

Also, both this morning and tonight I was able to open the thread while I was NOT logged-in to the TCM Account. I don't know if not being logged-in is related or completely circumstantial, but I was able to load the page. Once the page was loaded, I could "log-in" from that page and then it reloaded back to the vote thread page as "logged-in" and I was able to reply or edit as necessary. (And I fixed the typo in the subject line tonight!)

I offer these suggestions not knowing if they will work for anyone else - just what I have observed - and what has worked - in my attempts to open the Voting Thread.

ps - Just "posted" this message and now there is an announcement reading -

"Your Message has successfuly posted but will only be viewable in the thread after a short delay."

Hmmm. I wonder what is going on with the software upgrade now?

"Maybe the fact that we're both on dial-up is the reason for our having little trouble opening the voting thread?"

You and I are on dial-up but I know that 'lzcutter' is on DSL and I think 'filmlover' has a high-speed connection also. Fedya has experienced problems as has 'sugarpuss'. There is something buggy in that thread but I didn't see it when I reposted the schedules. I might have WebAdmin check it out and see if they can figure it out.
