You got it, Mr. Lab. Congratulations! I pass the baton to you...

P.S. to patful: the fan that I had in mind was the one that Lucille Bremer coveted in the "Limehouse Blues" number, and that Fred Astaire was about to get for her when he was shot; but the male chorus in the "Interview with a Great Lady" number could have been considered fans, as well...

Still not familiar with the intricacies of this thread. The original post years ago said only one guess at a time, but it seems there are sometimes multiples. If I'm out of line, tell me!

"Meet Me in St. Louis"?

And thanks, Jack, but it wouldn't have mattered. There are so many musicals that I have yet to see, and "Ziegfeld" is one of them. Next time around, I'll have to see it.

Well, patful, the original idea was exactly that. But, unless you have no life and can sit at the keyboard 24/7, you may have a hard time getting in your guess at the time the clue is given. I know that the few times that I was the question poser, I would post a clue and then check the other forums and threads while waiting for someone to come up with solution. That is the way I do it when I am trying to be the guesser, too. If I'm checking out Mongo's birthday thread and the next clue comes up, I might not even get a chance to answer before the next poster goes at it.

For example, you know what the answer is. Someone has beaten you to the only chance to answer, so you wait for the next clue. The phone rings and you answer it. While you were away, the next clue comes up and someone else takes another stab at the answer. You were too late again when you come back. OK, the next clue comes up and you start typing the correct answer. When you post, someone else has posted an answer ahead of you. Should you be the winner? I think that as many guesses as come in between clues should be allowed. Whenever I am the poser, I try my best to keep on top of the thread and usually it will be only one guess between clues, but I can't penalize someone who was a little behind someone else just to reach the 21 questions limit.

The fun is in the clues - trying to be obscure but fair. Just my humble opinion.

Thanks,CharlieT! I'll hang around here, maybe someday I'll get one.

"For example, you know what the answer is."

Hah! :-) I've been watching this thread for a week now without a guess. I'm so stubborn I keep at it though. Maybe it'll keep my brain from withering away.
