edgeciff
This is one of my favorite Betty Grable films. Although it used to play on AMC in the old days, it now seems to have vanished from TV as other Grable musicals. To my surprise someone posted all the musical numbers from this film on YouTube. This one has an unappreciated score by George & Ira Gershwin. Until FOX decides to release this Grable musical on DVD I will have to content myself with watching the film clips from this musical. danthemoviefan
I think somebody has aired this more recently, either Fox Movie Channel or -- in the 6-8 a.m. oldies slot -- HBO Signature or one of the Cinemax channels. Pin-Up Girl and How to Marry a Millionaire are the only Grable films coming up on Cinemax/HBO through January, while FMC is showing Four Jills in a Jeep, My Blue Heaven, and Springtime in the Rockies within the next few weeks. edgeciff
Forgot about the Grable films being screened from time to time on FMC. I always forget to check their schedule regularly, so I do miss lots of films on that station.

ayresorchids
This movie is indeed shocking, as it supports the idea that a woman can get out in the workplace and seek equality, find love, and have both! Very unusual film for its time.
butterscotchgreer
i love that about movies! i love any movie that has to do with, "votes for women!", and have romance in it too! that part of history has always fascinated me, so this movie was and still is among my faves! sandykaypax
Yes, Ayres, very shocking for its time. After reading Jeaninne Basinger's excellent book, Women in Film, my eyes were opened to the fact that in most films of the studio era, a woman could not have a career AND happiness with a man. CelluloidKid
*_The Shocking Miss Pilgrim_ (1947) was Marilyn Monroe's film debut! She played a Telephone Operator & was uncredited!*
