clipper
In "The Big Store" Marx Bros. movie (shown this morning) was a musical number "Sing While You Sell". In this song there is a female singer who solos with very stiff almost 'robotic' body movement yet her vocals easily flow and really swing. If she was credited, I missed it. I've seen her in another movie (singing a different song) and her delivery was exactly the same. Looking through the information listed here at TCM, I believe she is either Judy Matson or Faith Kruger. Can anyone help? clipper
vallo13
Judy Matson only made one film (The Big Store) But, Faith Kruger also sang in "Du Barry Was a Lady" and "Around the World" (1943) both uncredited. Faith was only in 9 films all uncredited. The list is here: http://imdb.com/name/nm0472570/ vallo
clipper
Thanks vallo, that information pretty much answers my question. I wonder why she was never credited. Watching her is a bit like watching a still photo but she sure could sing boogie-woogie. Thanks again. clipper
cascabel
The very funny Virginia O'Brien sings "Rock-a-bye Baby" and "Sing While You Sell" in THE BIG STORE. She was a pretty girl, but her gimmick was to sing without expression on her face. I love it that she can't resist smiling at the end of "Sing.." while entering the elevator with Groucho.
