Butterfli
I had seen an old black and white film that I really enjoyed. I can not remember the name though. It was about a couple. They were both singers and they met and fell in love. She gave up her career in support of his. They had a daughter. She had a hard time dealing with the fact that he became famous. While he was out performing at the clubs, she became an alcoholic. She couldn't deal with his relationship with a co-worker. The drinking and jealously eventually drove them apart even though they really loved each other. At the end, the lady came to visit her daughter (he got custody because of her drinking) and there was a fire. She was severely burned saving her daughter. Does this ring a bell to anyone? I hope so. It was really good. I didn't get to see the first part of it. I hope someone can help me. Thank you.
nightwalker
Sounds like it might be SMASH-UP: THE STORY OF A WOMAN, 1947, with Susan Hayward & Lee Bowman.
