doowopper
Hi, TCM repeatedly has been showing a moving, brief segment about movie people who have passed away this year. Does anyone know the name of the song and the artist (male) that accompanies that segment? One of the repeating lines in that song is, "Sometimes You Just Have to Walk Away." There is a song by Ben Harper called, "Walk Away," which contains that line, but I don't believe that is the song accompanying the segment and/or it is not him singing. Thanks. musiclover
If you go to the General Discussion threads you will see that we were talking about it over there and someone provided the answer. The song is "Promises" by Badly Drawn Boy.

CelluloidKid
Promises I promise you will get old I promised you everything To protect you wherever you go I'll give you this diamond ring Just promise you will remember A promise should last forever Right up to the dying embers Of a fire that burns so slow It's a different day everyday Don't want you to walk alone But how long we carry on When all of these things have gone Just promise you will remember That promises last forever Still after the last dying embers Of a fire that burns so slowly It's a beautiful thing to do Sometimes you just have to walk away Remember I do love you Have courage in what you say And promise you will remember That promises last forever Still after the dying embers The fire that burns so slowly And sometimes you just have to walk away Sometimes you just have to walk away Wishing today was yesterday Yeah, sometimes you just have to walk away PROMISES Lyrics - by BADLY DRAWN BOY from album BORN IN THE U.K.
