jaragon
I finally got to see this infamous movie and was shocked by how bad it is- yes it works on some basic exploitation level- but only in the castration scene does the director create any sense of horror or suspense. LawrenceA
Yes, it was a movie of its time, but has lost most of its punch in the ensuing decades. There are a lot like that, Last House on the Left or Salo or The New York Ripper...movies that were considered beyond the pale and horrific enough to scar the viewer for life. But when seen now, they seem tame or cheap or stupid or overly arty. Some still have qualities to admire, but others are just junk.
